  the presumably "biblical" practice of limiting the way women participate in congregational matters of the wtborg cult inc. (as well as certain other sects of christendom) may be a gross mis-interpretation of what paul meant.

  i'm inclined to agree completely with this account of what paul really meant.. thoughts anyone?

  a fair bit of time was spent discussing the (one) scripture in the bible that "proves" that when the bible touches on scientific subjects, it is absolutely correct.

  this was at the most recent clam meeting this past week.

  Verse 22, round disk horizon? wt would have been better of to settle for the stretching of the gauze of the heavens, akin to the expansion of spacetime, or the quasi prediction of motor less human sailplane flight, just recently setting an altitude record of ~ twice the heights of Everest, like an eagle, without flapping it's wings.

  The bible has 3 or 4 lucky hits among its ~50 000 verses.

  There has been an solar eclipse on this planet on going for more than a billion years.

  but the stunning spectacle is only understood by astronomers for a few thousand, and will not continue for billions more (the moon will become too small). without protective gear the ancients could only with difficulty have figured out what caused the darkness, who would suspect the the moon to be up in the daytime, in the glaring sun?

  An eclipse is one of those bible "miracles" we can look with awe at now, unless you consider jesus the first surfer, barefoot no less, ha ha.

  while trying to keep my mind off the fog in this week's meeting, I leafed to page 224 of the kingdom rule book and there is a picture of an eclipse as a "sign from heaven" preceding the end.

  watchtower's warts aside, theres was one , across the US and will again be in 7 years, and it does not stop there. (speaking from being there).

  I would advise to proceed with caution on minimizing a possible end scenario. It is not that the whole bible fiasko can be sanitised with current events, but taking one thing at a time, things could develop into another above, past wt scenario.

  speaking from my own experience and that of my family of wife and two now adult sons do not believe that prayers to jehovah /god are answered .. so it must also be true of all other religions and their believers also.. my wife and i were jw`s for 33 years and and i don`t believe anyone prayed harder than my wife and i at various trials we faced during those times in those 33 years.. we may as well have been like the present day jews who pray to a brick wall .

  When I watch the sun sets on the horizon of the cold water body of water that my house overlooks, the shape of the perfect circle is always deformed, sometimes suspended, once it looked like a stack of plates,

  should have counted them and see whether it relates to events in my life. , but not telling, enough other reasons t get a reputation to being odd. ha ha.

  reflection and reflection of different substances at different temperatures are understood, but conditions that arrive are too complex. Think of the proverbial butterfly in the Amazon triggering a hurricane.

  ironically, proponents of untruth may call truth-seekers as apostates, thus making the term meaningless.. for example, paul, the greatest of all apostles, taught untruth (stood away from truth) [see his main teaching in romans 5:12-21] even though he had known the following truths:.

  1) all humans did not become sinners through one man (genesis 5:24; job 1:8; psalm 18:23; ezekiel 14:14 and compare habakkuk 2:4), hence there was no need for anyone to pay ransom.. 2) in the old testament, the messiah refers to a “prince of peace” who literally rules from jerusalem, not merely anointed to the office to do the work in some distant future and get killed before that future occurs.

  wt is seeking the riches that are true, that are real, real like real estate. in return they offer a hope, based on a talking snake, that they can never fulfill. had your fill?
