Uninvited...again...
by Anders Andersen inso a week or so ago we received an invitation for a jw friend's wedding anniversary party in the mail.it was addressed to 'the andersen family' (and not just mrs. andersen & baby andersen) which was pleasant of course, but not a huge surprise given the type of person who said friend is.. however, i already prepared myself to be uninvited after all.
some time ago, there was a congregation farewell party/get-together.to my surprise, i was invited too!
an elder specifically came over to my house to tell me.then some weeks later, he visited again, being terribly sorry but the invitation was revoked as the congregation got concerned over my possible presence.. with that debacle in mind, i wasn't surprised to receive a message from my friend 'hey are you at home?

The org and going beyond what is written
by CitizenofEarth inhello there.. my father just claimed that the good thing about being a witness was how they just let the bible interpret itself.
now i know the irony in this statement, but i dont know what to show him that he just cant discard with some ignorant excuse.
any ideas?

Won't a jw use the overlapping generation thing to answer that?caria, thank you for caring! well, they could not, for the timing of the departure of the anointed is fixed by the fact that they have to be gone and in heaven ahead of the Great Tribulation / battle in which they participate as immortal warriors. The fact that the anointed are gone from the Earth before the GT contradicts Jesus' words, (and the history of the first century) that the anointed do survive the destruction!
The overlapping only makes the generation longer. the wt anointed generation is not too long, but too short,*** too short by the duration of the GT and Armageddon, even the start of paradise! *** I started a topic with that title.
wt is going beyond what is written when they call the generation the "anointed". the required overlap is just one more added proof that wt is wrong.

ask him to read Math 24:34 and confirm with him, that all written in Math: 24 and 25 ( the GT, goat judgement , Armageddon) ,according to Jesus in verse 34, will occur, before this generation will pass away. Then ask him when the anointed generation will pass away to heaven, according to wt,.... before the Gt or after Armageddon. ?
answer, wt: before. Jesus: after
wt goes beyond or rather short of the bible "prophetic generation genealogy" wt not ingenious. can not even read the bible right, when it counts.

Of course telling anybody that they will be destroyed, or should be, is hate speech. Threatening anybody with death, carried out be your friend (angelic or not) can be an assault in some jurisdictions. It is not the end of the world for jws, far worse happened to them in the 30s - 40s in germany, and we are still here. bible: after the 1000 years, the the Earth will have 4 corners again , to accommodate the nations gathering there for the final battle. even without stretching it, that promise gives 25% more surface for the same diameter. but since there is so much hot air in the bible, while not blow the corners out ( the bible does not say they have to be 90 degrees) to accommodate the 100 billion easily,? 25 billion in each corner? or 16 billions on each side? also:
The bible says "there will be no more sea", so, then eliminate the Oceans, you more than triple the land area. (here goes your dream of the waterfront property, sorry, jws!) ha ha.
