Advice on Disassociating

hello my exjw/pimo/pomo friends,.

i am working on penning my da letter and wondered if i should use it as a tool to maybe wake up individuals as the boe will have to read it.. anyone have any advice on what i should say versus what i should leave out?

i am not going to fade as my family can either be loyal to blood or loyal to a man made religion.

I really like BennyK's idea. I would write 2 messages. I'd have one for the elders, and one for everybody else. I would probably deliver my messages through group texts. In the message for the elders, I would simply say, "I no longer wish to be recognized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses."

In the message for everyone else, I would explain exactly why I am leaving. I would include everything that Watchtower doesn't want them to know. I would even send them the ARC "presumptuous" clip of Geoffrey Jackson. Sending 2 different messages will take away the control that the elders feel they should have over the situation. It will really mess with their inflated egos. When they announce you, everybody will know exactly why you are leaving. The elders are bound to see your other message eventually, that's inevitable. When they do, they'll probably wet their pants in shame. The C.O. won't be too happy about it either. It's the perfect plan.

One of the points of conventions: obedience training

i think a lot these days about people who train you to be obedient without telling you that's what they're doing.

the thought occurred to me that that could be part of the idea of regional conventions.

it's not like they present much of anything new to the audience, it's the same old talks year after year, the same old information, yeah, repackaged a little, different themes, different illustrations, but the same information, obey the faithful slave, armageddon is imminent, go door-to-door, the usual.

That sister is being defensive. Nobody said she wasn't normal. It's the fact that SHE knows she's not normal that's bothering her, so she has to convince herself of just how "normal" she is. I never heard any girls living in the Playboy mansion talk about how normal they were.

Memorial Crashes

normally, i don't like the memorial crash videos.. however, if you're thinking about doing one, i have a request:.

can someone please do a memorial crash where they break out a tub of hummus and eat the bread with some hummus?don't say a word.

just sit there silently dipping the bread in hummus and munching...and just stare blankly ahead while doing so.. .

So, why don't Witnesses disfellowship/shun those who eat fast food and are obese?

They're not going to enforce that rule, even though it's in the "Super-Top-Secret No Girlz Alowd Elders' Treehouse Club Manual" as Neat Blue Dog put it. They know that as soon as they do, there will only be a handful of Witnesses left.

Very interesting. I listened to the audio of the Chicago Bible Students' memorial service. I noticed that they used one of the same hymns. I also noticed that they don't use the name Jehovah when they pray. I talked with a Bible Student through email, and he said that they celebrated the memorial on the 18th of April this year. It's good to be able to learn about all of these things now. Even though I'm not interested in organized religion anymore, learning from an educational standpoint helps me to be a more well rounded person. I've even been looking for video of a black mass ceremony to compare it with a JW memorial. I still haven't found one. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

my dad says he wants to see it with his own eyes since it says many things about why they really got rid of so many kingdom halls and simplification of literature (such as magazine reduction).. i miss the leaks like that because you can't argue with your own peoples material.

Just joking Zindagi. But I must admit that those 2 old broads give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Something about them is very familiar, like a nice apple pie. Some older JW sisters also give me that feeling, but they'd probably look down their noses at me in judgement if I tried to have a slice.

I've been corresponding with a member of the I.B.S.A. through email, and from what I can tell, they're nowhere near as strict as Watchtower. I've asked him all kinds of questions, and what he says is very interesting. We were just in the wrong faction. If I had been born into this group, maybe my life would be better now. So let's all become I.B.S.A.!!! Well I won't go that far, but it's nice to know some of the real history. Are the dots necessary when you type IBSA (or I.B.S.A.)? The title of this topic was too short without them, so I added them and now I can't stop. What do you all think?
