  Why do they flee and hide

  something that has often struck me in my morning musings is: why should “god’s people” ever need to hide or flee in fear?.

  there are numerous accounts recorded in the bible, both ot and nt, where prophets, kings, apostles and others have either been told to flee and hide or have just experienced that normal human feeling of fear and have fled and hidden instinctively.

  even recently, the wtbts has produced vivid images in the wt magazine and videos of “god’s people” hiding out in bunkers to avoid detection.. is it just another broken promise from jehober that he will “without fail” protect “his people”?

  JW Wife not listening

  hey guys, looking for some advice with what to do with my jw wife that is simply ignoring my wishes/demands.

  first a little back story, we have been married for 6 years and have 3 children together.

  she is a jw, and i am not (nor do i have any religious beliefs).

  My wife in six years of marriage, I have never once seen my wife read the Bible, does even read the magazines. Can't answer the simplest of theological questions.

  Yet she needed to take a week off work to pioneers. Ducking ridiculous.

  I find jws generally scatter like cockroaches when faced with any type of theological discussion, so the best defence against the cults is just have a bible for dummies level of knowledge about Christianity.

  Gas or Electric Stove

  i have decided on black stainless for the finish.

  the house is stubbed for gas and electric for the range.

  A Gas range cooks a lot faster than electricity any day. Plus natural gas is much cheaper than electricity.

  Gas ranges are super messy though. Lots of boil overs and such. Those electric Flat tops are a breeze to wipe down.

  Please tell me: what is a relationship with the "person" Jehovah like?

  does anyone out there know of any jws that have talked about what their personal relationship with jehovah was like?

  for example, hearing his voice, a certain feeling?

  an intellectual understanding?

  I really don't understand the theological basis of how it's is possible to have a relationship with God while believing you don't enter into the new convanent. It's Kind Of the point of the new testament.

  Take For example the idea your child gets hit by a drunk driver and is bleeding to death, your relationship with jehovah tells you to not do everything possible to save your child's life. I call bullshit.

  I believe there is something but I don't think your faith should violate your conscience.

  this is new to me.. i was always taught things like "god is everywhere".. now the folks in warwick are tearing that into shreds with their spiritual enlightenment.. https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/god-omnipresent/.

  god is able to see everything and to act anywhere he chooses.

  (proverbs 15:3; hebrews 4:13) however, the bible does not teach that god is omnipresent—that is, present everywhere, in all things.

  It has to do with the idea that God needed a physical manifestation to deal with human beings with that being Jesus.

  Jehovah witness don't believe that so they limited gods ability.

  It's mockery. There is a dark and evil force in this world.

  Stuff like this makes even the most devout atheist really question there faith or lack of. It's literally so stupid you can't help but believe there is something supernatural behind it.

  Just for fun I asked this used book store clerk if she had the book crisis of conscience. She knew exactly what I was talking about and she said she was asked for it quite regularly. Unfortunately she didn't have it at the time.

  Kind of me feel like I am not alone in the universe. We are everywhere.

  hello all - so me and stuckinarut2 are at the state library proving to ourselves that wt has it all wrong re: 607. i've read at length jwfacts, jwsurvey and crisis of conscience that all go into the subject and i've just downloaded gentile times reconsidered.. while it is fabulous to have someone else compile all the research and evidence for you, it is quite another to see it in print for yourself - and so, here we are.. while we wait for our array of books i couldn't help but share with you how the state library has catalogued jewish history - 586 bc to 70 ad.

  no mention of 607 as a key date as far as the library's catalogue is concerned!!

  evidence before we have our books!!.

  I have always found the 607 debate kind of a moot point.

  I always thought after reading Daniel 4 and realizing the whole formula is nothing ctr taught prior to 1914, you could see the obvious scripture twisting nonsense.

  CLAM Video - re Erich Frost (Apr 17-23 2017)

  i normally don't bother going to the midweek jw meetings much.

  however, upon reading in the april 2017 meeting workbook that there was to be a video about erich frost (former do for saxony & nazi prisoner in sachsenhausen concentration camp) i wanted to attend as i had read about this brother in history texts by detlef garbe and hans hesse.

  i had also visited auschwitz several times and noted that the museum had a display / exhibition about jehovah's witnesses.

  I think you should learn the difference between the extermination camps and concentration camps. Watchtards were nothing but free Labour and had a better survival rate was much than getting sent to the front line, especially the Soviet front which was hell on earth.
