Jehovah's Limp Witnesses Pointed Me to JW.org When I Was Willing to Talk

several months ago i approached a nice young couple who were standing by a jw literature stand in my local community.

they were pleasant and polite but incredibly stilted when it came to answering my "innocent" questions about their beliefs.

this was the occasion of jws featuring the article headlined "is religion dying?".

Something that always kind of bugged me was how little recognition the Wts received from the academic community. Every major university had a theology department in which you either study Christianity from a either religious or secular point of view.

Once I started to do some of the research I started to realize the reason the Wts isn't even considered in the comparative religious discussion is pardon my language but a total and complete fucking joke. There isn't even a basic understanding of the relationship between the old and new testaments and what is being quoted.

It Cant be defended because it's utter nonsense.

Christianity is a belief that you are reconciled to God though having a personal relationship with Jesus christ. That is the story of the new testament. Becoming born again. Entering into the new conevant.

As a jehovah witness you believe that is only for the annoited that are sorely represented by the governing body. These are the only ones that have this relationship. Though your works and obedience to these men you will be saved.

For example if you have a certain decision to make , you wouldnt pray it about and expect your conscience to drive your decision. The you look to jw.org and see what the society says about it.

The idea you have some kind of super natural relationship with jehovah god goes against what the society teaches.

I know the borg talk about your relationship with jehovah and how important it is to pray and such but you really have to look at what they teach.

It's all for show.

Actually if you child gets hit by a drunk driver and is bleeding to death, as a jehovah witness there is no point praying. It's your duty is to let your child die.

The entire premise of the religion is you have no personal relationship with God. Jesus only died to give us the faithful slave. It's your works and obedience to these men , that is your salvation.

You have no relationship with God. Don't try this Joel Osteen bullshit with you. You are a fraud.

I really don't understand the supernatural declarations of faith as a jehovah witness.

We had an elder in our hall who had his kidneys fail and I just assumed I was going to a funeral real quick. I didn't think kidney dialysis was premitted. ( the act of removing the blood from the body and cleaning it and injecting it back.).

Yet we are not allowed to store our own blood for surgery .

Birth of my son

Getting my heart broken at 18 years old. Diffinetly a positive experience. It taught me time really does heal old wounds and sex doesn't mean love.

Watching a high school crush of seven years marry another guy. Funny thing is we did reconnect years later and told me she thought of me often.

Reading a book called the two powers in heaven, basically explaining the plurality of old testament god and who new testament thought jesus was. It literally destroyed any chance of me ever getting baptized or taking the Wts with any seriousness.

I saw this speaker talk once about " the name of god " and starting using old testament examples. We are protected by name of god, the name of god is in him, the name traveled to met us. The ark of the conevant is call the name. Etc etc.

What it really means is the essence or power of God. It often just used to refer to God himself. It Hebrew it is called the shema.

It has nothing to do with four letters or just saying a magical word. The jw have reduced the bible to Harry Potter on this issue.
