Does Anyone Still Believe in God?
by LaurenM indo any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?
even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.
the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.

Wow. After reading all 33 pages of this thread I am convinced that Simon is a god or at least a genius. He has 'evidently' created sophisticated bot software to emulate all sorts of realistic theist-agnostic-atheist-apologist-touchyfeely characters all responding to each other. And I keep coming back for more. Brilliant. -

I'm going to second "under the radar's" idea. If nothing else, just be there to hold her hand.

Why zombies?
by FadeToBlack ini just saw ww-v with brad pitt the other night (i know i am behind the times, still trying to catch up on movies i missed the last 30 years) and it struck me- why are we always fighting zombies?
is it just easier to justify the carnage?
it seems to me, that the most horrific carnage seems to be neighbor-vs-neighbor.

Thanks for all the tips/updates. I will check out Zombieland. I love Bill Murray. Great actor in either comedic or dramatic role (note: not sure if comedic is a real word). Probably will also get first season of Walking dead and give it a try.

Is it typically some type of virus that kicks off the zombie-apocalypse? I saw Legend and seem to recall they were trying to use rabies (or rabies vacine) to cure cancer and it didn't turn out so well.
I prefer the fast zombies (at least on film) too. If there were real zombies, slow would be better of course. Just don't get your leg stuck in the branches while you are running away. Are the zombies in 'Walking Dead' slow or fast? Does the first series show how it got started?

Thanks for the cliff notes. I have a lot of catching up to do. I skipped the whole vampire thing though. Hope that is ok. Do the non-zombies (the good guys?) always win or at least have some kind of happy moment at the end of the movie?
Any movies/series where it doesn't work out that way? I ask, because other than in Hollywood, I can't see it turning out that way.
Thanks SaintB. I might change my user ID.

Civil-wars seem to be the most brutal.
What is the root cause? Pent up rage, manipulation? How is this going to play out in a world with an increasing population and dwindling resources? Your thoughts.

Independent living for Senior facilities are thru the roof here. What about your area??
by James Mixon inwe checked on a new senior facility, just to get in your must shell out $200.000.00 and.
don't get that back.
two hundred thousand up front and payments from $2500.00-$5000.00.

I hear you Cangie. $422 would be a great price to pay if you were still independent and didn't want to put up with someone else's darlings. But as you stated, what comes next? Perhaps some compromise?
How did people manage this situation before health insurnace and private care became part of the equation?

Anthony Morris explains how God gives Decrees to man! New video edit.
by Wasanelder Once ini took the most recent video on "obey" and edited it down to its core.
here tony explains that the decisions of the faithful slave are arrived at "collectively" but are not a "collection" of man made decisions.
it would be comical if it weren't so sad.. tony video.

Signature Quote - what do you think?
by Muddy Waters ini apologize for the self-serving nature of this post.. i first said this to a lovely person here to encourage her and add a bit of humour to a harsh situation, but i've fallen in love with my own words, ha, and would like to use a variation of what i said to her as my new signature quote.
it's a bit long, and could become tiresome eventually, but do you forum members think that you might like (or could tolerate, heh) seeing this on my posts?.
.... "may god, or the universe, or airborne spaghetti, or energies or wavelengths or frequencies, or quantum particles that somehow attract things to us, or telepathic manipulation by aliens -- bless you.

It is a bit long, but after all, there are so many possibilities. A good day is a good day in my book. I'll take it. -

Exactly James. And why can't they be bothered to do that now? If they are reasonably independent, wouldn't it be cheaper to just build a mil apartment or add on a room? It would be as they say: a win-win.
