The web site has been around for months. I am sure it was mentioned here then.
Good to be reminded of it though!

well it will be 100 yrs for jehovah's witnesses on 10/2/2014 12pm est.
will armagedon happen?
100yrs is a very long generation, two or three.
Is the actual date not in a few days time due to the difference between the solar and lunar calendars?
Here is something from the uber dub "scholars" on another site....
2520 years of gentile times began and ended on Tishri 15, which began at sundown on October 4 in 1914. However, due to the differences between the solar and lunar calendar, the actual anniversary from year to year might be many days before or after, for the same reason that Nisan 14 is a different date each year.
Of course arbitrary anniversaries have nothing to do with the great tribulation whatsoever. (Acts 1:7) But for those keeping an eye out just in case, the exact 100th anniversary this year doesn't come on October 2nd, or 4th, or 5th, this year Tishri 15 lasts from sundown October 8 to sundown October 9.
this looks interesting, this guy is bringing the right to family life into his case.
many have thought of doing this.
maybe a good test case.. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/jehovahs-witness-sues-for-150000-after-church-snubbed-him-over-fraud-claims-9750062.html.
BTTT - anyone know how this is progressing, especially in the light of another thread discussing threating elders with legal action if one is announced as "no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses"?
as everyone knows, there have been major changes in kh financing recently.
this means that congs should only have funds equal to 3 months expenditure on hand - send the rest to the borg.
in the uk there has also been an appeal to send extra funds to finance the new bethel (if we are going to print our own literature and show videos on the doors, why do they need a new bethel?).
Yup very interested to see letter, kit list etc.
from barbara anderson, former watchtower headquarters researcher and writer, on another recent thread:.
it is expected that at the 2014 annual meeting, usually held the first saturday in october, will serve watchtower leaders well to cover-up all the 100-years of prophetic nonsense.
rumor has it they are going to celebrate their 100-years of announcing the kingdom in an adroit way by featuring a move of "great" significance to do with the expansion of the governing body to an "apostolic" 12 or some other fantasy idea.. .
Billy's back! Whoop whoop!
in many places it is illegal to set up a stand and sell things in public without council approval.
so why is it that jws can set up their trolleys in busy public areas without being asked to move on?
i saw this article this morning about muslims being asked to stop handing out leaflets in parramatta, because it is illegal.
In the UK they get permission.
my son and i were discussing this yesterday over coffee.
since the wt society in previous years virtually demonized going on the internet at all for jw's - now wt leaders are doing a complete turn around or about face probably so as to " compete " or keep up with all the anti-jw websites that are out there to give the wt society point of view.. however- it very well may backfire on them as once people start doing google searches looking for jw.org it will bring up all the other websites dealing with any jw issues and in the privacy of their own homes out of curiosity i'm sure lots of jw's are going to want to check out some of these sites to see what all the " apostate " hoopla is all about.
i wonder how many jw's will do this and will it have an effect in opening more minds to other views ?
Interesting thoughts Outlaw but it's a pretty big step to go from managing your own telecoms infrastructure to support the needs of the HQ facilities in the NE US to providing ISP services to Witnesses across the world. Not impossible but I am not sure that it will go that far.
yes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.
i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.
as for rent on the assembly hall, well you have already paid for it once, why pay again?
Which is exactly what goes on @gonzobear
there is a thread on jwtalk suggesting that the latest hall designs do not feature a literature desk.
the dubs will pick up gear from a self serve kiosk in the hall, just enough for their immediate needs.. time will tell if this is true but if so then it relfects the reducing emphasis on printed material.
also, i think there is another by product.

Time will tell if this is true but if so then it reflects the reducing emphasis on printed material. Also, I think there is another by product. You don't need two or three literature servants. One brother fills the kiosk when it needs refilling and that's it. We all know how the congregations are suffering from a lack of desire to reach out. I am not saying this the is thinking but anything that means you need less willing volunteers...

Interesting figures in the latest East Pennine Hall accounts....
Operating costs....£162,975
Other resources expended £135,924, with £345k the year before and £314k the year before that, apparently for refurbishment.
The accounts from 31/8/11 says...
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
During the year a refurbishment project was undertaken of the assembly hall. The trustees reserved £400,000 for the work, £314,674 was spent during the year.
So, perhaps they are showing almost £800k for refurb over 3 years when they reserverd £400k, which of course was not reserved from exisiting assets, it would have been asked in extra donations from the R&F.
This whilst showing assets of £6 million....
