The world is a dangerous place today because too many people sat and did nothing from 1993 on. Too many people did nothing or cut and ran. Ever heard of Somalia? Nations, such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and others have been victimized by these thugs, though not actively supporting the US with Iraq.The fact is, some here want to appease the terrorists. They don't want to confront them. They think they can get along with them. The United Nations is the outpost to make all this magic come true.

Actually, you can't totally blame Clinton on this one. It started when Regan was in office back in the early '80s. When the Marines stationed in Lebonnon where bombed, that's when the war began. America just didn't know it. Also in the early 80's, China began selling nuke secrets to Pakistan and other nations.

Just look at how Britain got bullied by the Chinese over Hong Kong. In the next 10 years or so when China really starts flexing it's muscle (invasion of Taiwan, bullying Japan, taking land from Russia, etc) see who the UN will turn to.

Hey - I'm still waiting for the cheaper gas prices you promised. I thought you said Bush was going to war with Iraq for their oil. Dam, gas is over $2.00 a gallon now and this summer it's suppose to be over $3.00 a gallon. Dammit, I want Bush to invade Mexico, Russia and Saudi Arabia next and get those oil prices down. Wiscousin is the south. I thought that was a cold snowy place. The onlt thing I needed to know when I went down south (Fayetteville, NC) to visit my wife's family was what gas station sells the 40's of malt liquor. Once I found that everything else falls into place.
I was thinking the same thing. However, a few months ago I went to Alabama to look at a machine I was buying. Holy shi*, it was right out of Deliverence. I kept expecting to see a fat white dude running down the street with his pants around his ankles.

That having been said, Elders can be fickles beasts, and if it suits them they might just do that.
This and what Mulan wrote pretty much sums it up. Even on the body of elders I was on, some of us (like me) had a "live and let live" attitude. Others were always on a witch hunt. For example, a few years back the Society directly body of elders to find those in the territory who no longer go to the meetings. On the surface, it was direction from the Society to "help those who have become spiritually weak." But we elders knew it was meant to root-out those who were still JW's but were leading a "worldy" life. Each of us elders were given names and address to contact. Some of us tried to contact these people once, found no one home, and reported back "oh, they must have moved away." Other elders went hunting, tracked these people down, hoping to find them doing something that could lead to df'ing. And many of them were.
So, to make a long story short, it's all up to how the local elders view you and if they're uptight or laid back.
