GB member Geoffrey Jackson going apostate
by darkspilver inyes, it's true, geoffrey jackson, the cleverest member of the governing body, is going apostate.. he's already written two scholarly books, the question is .... when is his third book going to be released!!.....
desirousofchange: "faded" is definitely only an "apostate" term.
i don't know of it being used by wt publications or "in the dark" jwsberrygerry: geoff jackson used it during the arc..

Geoffrey Jackson's forthcoming book is an autobiography:
"Geoffrey Jackson: A life filled with pylori shit"
Ftn. The phrase 'pylori shit' comes from the word pylori, which is a stomach bacteria that is known to cause diarrhea, and from the word shit. The phrase pylori shit is an anagram of the phrase holy spirit.

I started my first " Mens Gym" session today
by smiddy ini`m no fitness fanatic by any stretch of the imagination though throughout my life i have strived on & off (more often than not , off ) to maintain some level of fitness activity.. i retired about 10 years ago and for the first few years i joined two table tennis clubs , social activity, though not anymore.. and i have become more of a couch potato these past few years with the internet and netflix and the club as my main concern of activity if you can call it that ,and it has been bothering me ,so finally i did something about it.. only a few doors down from me is a medical health clinic with a gym that caters for seniors like myself , so i bit the bullet and joined up .. and i`m proud of it.. if it kills me in the process then i`ll die doing what i want to do at my age.. sorry to bore you with this post ,but what did you expect a future mr. universe ?.

smiddy - Going across the lake on the foobridge to the 90 mile beach and walking to the entrance and back is also a good workout.
The only reason I cross the footbridge is so I can sit down for a serve of fried whiting and chips.

Always remember that according to the Bible Jesus got a technical trade before engaging in any preaching work. That's why he was known as a carpenter.

freddo - And the Hall Overseer who will be chucked out of his apartment and be told to go and be warm and well fed.
That's a bit harse. The correct term is "reassigned to the field." Hee hee hee.
The bookstudy arrangement was chucked out because of Watchtower claims relating to rising fuel costs evidently making it prohibitive for JWs to travel by car, or subway, or train, or bus, or walk to a home in their local neighborhood, or for some in the bookstudy group to walk from their bedroom into their lounge room.
Now kingdom halls are being sold off and JWs are forced to travel further then they ever have in their entire life to reach a hall. Add to this the selling off of Assembly Halls thereby making large gatherings more expensive with more travel.
The Netherlands have never been a good field for Watchtower to harvest in having one of the worst ratios of publishers to population in the western world. Too many tulips and not enough wheat.

Entertainment: What's everybody reading or into right now?
by schnell ini picked up bernard cornwell's the pagan lord at the library.
historical fiction set in england after the death of alfred the great.
i'm loving it, especially the between-the-lines wit and sense of timing in cornwell's writing, and the complete badassery of the protagonist.

I really enjoy Cornwell's books. I 've read the Arthur series (Warlord Chronicles), the Grail Quest series, and the Warrior Chtonicles (Last Kingdom). This the led me to Sarum by Edward Rutheruord and then his book London. Both highly recommended in that order. I am currently reading Russka also by Rutherfurd.

Is Satan really the bad guy in story of creation?

At the time when Moses (???) wrote all that nonsense the two main instruments of death among the Israelites were swords snd snake. They both end up in the creation account playint a pivotal role in mankind's death.
Evidently it never occured to these desert dwellers that swords had not yet been invented at the dawn of man's creation. Hence the inclusion of a sword in the story.
I find it highly unlikely that Eve told Adam she had been talking with a snake and that Adam found this acceptable and made no investigation.

Welcome to the forum A Believer. You said
I have been for the last couple weeks been studying religion. I've learned the only ones who today do what the Bible says to is JW. Thier the only who, as the bible puts it, preaches the good news in all the land
You stated that only the religion of jehovah's witnesses preach the good news. You are completely incorrect. The religion does not preach anything. A number of years back both the religion and the Watchtower corporation stepped back from and distanced themselves from the preaching work. They did this to deny legal liability.
According to the current doctrinal teachings of Geoff, Sam, Mark, Gerrit, Stephen, Tony, and David, aka the governing body of jehovah's witnesses, the preaching work is carried out by anyone and everyone who reads the bible and goes out and preaches. Any preaching work carried out by adherents of the faith of jehovah's witnesses has been described by these seven men as one's "own personal ministry," i.e. not sanctioned by the church.
Ironically this makes the church of jehovah's witnesses not a follower of Christ's commands and therefore not a follower of the Bible when it comes to preaching the gospel.

LoisLane looking for Superman
. . . Is this on topic or off? This question: Was God then, the first psychopath?Rather than comment perhaps we should let the bible speak. Who killed more people, god or Satan?
