You could always countercharge them with apostasy in that they are going against the scriptures, as interpreted by the fds, in that scriptural-based procedures are not being followed.

Got my JC cancelled... (at least for now)
by Sanchy inso my wife and i have been in the process of fading for a few months now as per my original post here.
about a week ago, i was browsing some ex-jw facebook groups when i saw a post that linked to the crisis of conscience book.
i said "f@(k it" and hit share on it.. a few hours later, i get a long text letter from my mom (who was a fb friend of mine) telling me the typical "good luck finding friends in the world" and how we have "nothing in common anymore"; basically, it was a 'farewell' text.

Though poor, this worshipper was loved and appreciated just as much as the one bringing a more costly offering. w14 11/15 3:11
That's right folks. The JW governing body will take your ice-cream money, even though you are poor, and they will also try to take your inheritance money, the more costly offering made by your dying JW relatives.

New study - JWs by far the least educated religious group in Canada, Australia and New Zealand
by slimboyfat inthe religion of the educated classes revisited: new religions, the nonreligious, and educational levels - james r. lewis .
the measure lewis uses to compare religious groups is what percentage of members of the respective religions have graduated from college.
the findings are similar to the results of the pew survey in the united states.

Just finished reading the article and have highlighted the key findings below. The 3.3% for total JWs doesn't surprise me as too the 5.33% of JW adults.
The recent 9 August 2016 Australian Census has two interesting questions that when the stats are crunched will reveal the current level of JW education, or lack thereof, for the next generation.
24. Is the person attending a school or any other educational institution.
If you mark yes go to question 25.
25. What type of educational institution is the person attending?
[there is a box that can be marked "University or other higher educational institution."]
Will be interesting to eventually find out how many JWs are currently seeking higher education and what the age groups are. This should be very revealing when compared against the national average, other religions and the below stats from the 2006 census.
As a group Jehovah's Witnesses have the lowest education levels but is there evidence that they are becoming less and less educated? Time will tell. The stats won't lie.

In Out Guardian hokey pokey

using the online version as the starting point...... strike-thru for words removed from online to print.

Thanks for pointing this out. I've noticed that this practice of changing words, sentences and the whole subject structure is becoming increasingly common amongst publishers. This really causes one to question the credibility and motives of the actual publisher.
Of course I've noticed this practice particularly in the Jehovah's Witnesses New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, the print and online version of practically ALL Watchtower publications including the Watchtower and Awake! magazine, and literally ALL books and brochures used by Jehovah's Witnesses.

Why do so many JW's argue that they do not believe what they clearly do?
by Crabby ini ask a question recently, which was why do jw's not salute the flag, and i ask what page of the bible directs this practice.. all i got back was that i do not know what i am talking about and that they are allowed to do this, when i dropped 40000 google links proving that they do not salute the flag they just deleted it as though my proof could not exist.
seriously this is common knowledge, my neighbor just put up a flag to keep the guy across the street away.
so are there jw's who have no clue what they believe, or should believe?
-

Jehovah's Witnesses do not know today what they will be told to believe tomorrow. Hence they cannot believe tomorrow what they believe today. As such they cannot commit to what they believe today. This is in harmony with the inspired writings of James who stated that in the last days of this system of things "you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow." - James 4:14

Hidden message in JW bunker video?
by Dunedain inso, i was speaking with a relative recently, who is "in" the borg, but is completely aware of the terrible hypocrisy from the gb down.
he is not in the box, and its great to be able to have a realistic, and logical discussion about the current state of the org.. we started discussing, specifically, about that bunker video that was released in december.
how it is being played at all the conventions.

I'm curious as to why the JWs always imagine that "the end" for them always has to start in the USA and in private homes. From my information it's going to start at Bethel in Australia with the branch committee huddling in a basement with their lawyers while the authorities search for them.

I've had enough..
by raven inso last night, after thinking "wow those pesky elders have finally left me alone, maybe since i skipped out on their jc invitation back on august 1st they've given up" wrong.. i go to check the mail and there's an envelope at my front door- lo and behold, another letter from from these elders.. why won't they leave me alone already?
i'll attach a picture of the letter.. again, same letter as the first one inviting me to a judicial committee on august 15th - and signed by all three elders.. should i just continue to ignore?
quite frankly i don't give a rats arse i've been enjoying life free from the mind control of the organization, and i just wish they would drop it and let me live life.. like i mentioned before, i am moving to a new home next week, the only reason these elders have my current address ( which happens to be over 100 miles away from the cong ) is because my mother gave it to them, after i gave it to her in confidence to forward me my mail.. so lets just say she won't be getting my new address... i don't have any contact with ones from this congregation (i'm an ex pioneer, so i'm sure if they've gotten word on what i'm doing, i must be satan himself!

Go down to the police station, tell them that you are not a member of the church and that these men are stalking you with the intent of asking you questions in relation to your private life including sensitive and personal information - and that you consider their actions to be sexual harrassment. Get the police to help you apply to the court for a restraining order.
