  Imagine a loyal JW couple both 30 years of age deciding to have no children because "the end is so close" but put Watchtower's kingdom interests first.

  1938 - 2017 = 109 years (died and gone to heaven according to JW beliefs whereupon they learnt that all the teachings of the Watchtower were wrong and the end was not going to come anytime soon.)

  1974 - 2017 = 73 years (taken off the district work because of changes and sent out into the territory where he served as the cobe elder until 70 when he was removed because he was too old. They now live in a bungalow at the back of someone's house.)

  1987 - 2017 = 60 years (spent the past 25 years at bethel and then laid off with the downsizing. Too young for pension. No qualifications. No assets. No children.

  Watchtower's "Government" book by Rutherford is interesting in that the very thing the book criticizes the Soviet government on the Watchtower itself has become.

  what is happening in kazakhstan?

  that country that occupies a space between russia and china?.

  kazakhstan is a landlocked country in central asia that shares borders with russia, china, kyrgyzstan, uzbekistan, and turkmenistan, and also adjoins a large part of the caspian sea.. kazakhstan is 70% muslim.

  Is it just me or is this weeks CLAM more "cultish" than usual?

  maybe it was my mood, but last night the meeting seemed really over the top cultish.. mainly the latter portion that just focused on presentation videos which always seem creepy to me anyway.. then the local needs was pre-empted by a video all about ldc which seemed completely pointless.

  (on a side note my wife knew a couple of different people in it).

  the congregation "bible" study which dealt with the ever changing cover of the watchtower magazine.

  UK JWs go up 72 places in latest 2017 Charity 250 Index (2nd highest climbers)

  i'm not really sure what this charity 250 index is trying to do.

  partly because i'd expect a few big household name charities to be on it at the top.

  i've copied the table below - see positions 19 (up from 70) and 130 (up from 202).

  Hmmm, I wonder how much money the JW Russian branch has donated to Watchtower Britain.

  Keep in mind that donations from Watchtower branches all over Europe and Africa make their way to Watchtower Britain.

  Also, while not a donation but a non-secured loan, Watchtower Australia has run its operations into the red by passing millions onto Watchtower Britain. Add to that millions and millions more Watchtower Australia has donated to overseas charities (all controlled by the GB) during the ARC hearings until the cash was all gone.

  doubtfull1799 - Not to mention this false caption - there was no such things as the GB until the 70's. From 1919-1971 Jehovah's direction was given "through the office of the President." See 1943 Yearbook.

  Photographic evidence of the perpetration of a lie. Nathan Knorr (sitting behind desk) never claimed to be of the "anointed class" and never partook at the Lord's Evening Meal. Yet the Watchtower claims that the "faithful and discreet slave" are the governing body. As the photo shows and Watchtower historical revisionism now inadvertantly teaches, Nathan Knorr presided over and controlled all meetings, be they of the governing body or "faithful and discreet slave."

  This then begs the question: Was Knorr the "evil slave"? No, because the current GB teaches there is no "evil slave" and that there never has been.

  watchtower ever “simplifies” its “arrangements”.

  no more food.

  one-day circuit assemblies…no more “special assembly day”--it was a sad occasion anyways.
