  The church history is full of human failure, so much that all could understand

  well Dante Alighieri's (1265-1321) vision of the whore babylon sitting in the

  church carriage, an image he used in his Comedy condemning the corrupt RC Church.

  The tremendous words of William of Auvergne who said in view of the

  imbrutement of the church, that everyone who saw it, would have to freeze of horror.

  Does the W.T have financial problems are are they just rebranding?

  it is evident that the w.t has recently re-branded itself, and has become fairly modern in its marketing techniques.

  so the organisation is in that respect forward thinking, and the former way of doing things has past.. .

  but this rebranding has been done by marketing experts, who maybe realise progress is progress, and that with modernisation many bethelites " even as free volunteers" are possibly no longer required.

  so yesterday in accordance with my boys wish, we put the christmas tree and decorations up.

  A paragraph from the new February 2016 bible study "Learn from Jehovah's loyal servants. of J. R eads as follow: "Learn from Jehovah's loyal servants." „ A conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped. For example, a sister named Anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother. The mother wanted to visit Anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family. Anne was deeply distressed by the plea and promised to reply by letter. Before writing, she reviewed Bible principles. (1 Cor. 5:11;2 John 9-11) Anne wrote and kindly reminded her mother that she had cut herself off from the family by her wrongdoing and unrepentant attitude. “The only way you can relieve your pain is by returning to Jehovah,” Anne wrote.

  Thats really important, if JW shun someone it leads automatically to a drastic social problem. Because this person has no close contact with outsiders and no contact with insiders any longer, because it has been "JW-socialized".

  In Europe we have approx. 3 Mio. Jehovahs witnesses altogether (please give better data if you have). [interested may be 6 Mio]

  On average 1 % is disfellowshipped annually and has no family contact any more, they are not repantent or simply ceased to believe in the doctrine.

  In the last 10 years we can estimate that 300000 european followers have gone through the HELL OF SHUNNING.

  1/3 returned after the hell to the Borg, the remainin 2/3 (200000 europeans citizens are socially excluded and need approx. 5-10 years to socialise again, find new friends. New jobs even, if a brother worked in an enterprise of a brother.

  200.000 shunned Europeans (10 years) Most of them have family in Jehovahs witness church.

  So lets assume 1 excommunicated has 4 close family members (father, mother, sister, brother) that are not talking with him again any more.

  this makes 200.000 x 4 = 800.000 Persons closely concerned with Shunning of Jehovahs witnesses in Europe alone. If we take more years, back the last 20 years we would come to a higher amount, even up to nearly 2 Million Europeans concerned.

  if 30.000 are shunned annually worldwide we have 120.000 concerned people and brains.

  if 50.000 are shunned annually worldwide we have 200.000 family members concerned and brains.

  In former times the amount of shunned ones was not so high because the amount of "member brains" was less.

  The hell of shunning is not only a psychlogicyla trauma and stress for 2 Mio Europeans but results in drastic costs for health care, medicamentaion and therapy, oftens lifelong social problems and even suicides.

  Its definitely a case for Human rights office of the United Nations. They will hear soon of it. There are many helping those who are captive and cant speak for themselves. The time is near

  What is shunning

  Meant is not a merely shunning on private level but a consquence of an institutional investigation, according to procedure and combined with a public proclamation that leads to shunning of a member of the community. That is not the choice of the individual alone any more it is institutional shunning and harmful practise. Therefor it has a social aspect too.
  

  Most members of them love their belief and the family and friends, they only disagree with certain aspects of doctrine like the institutional shunning, the leadership abilities of the highrankers.

  labeled as "disobidient, independent thinkers" they face the excommunication.

  JWs have more good points than bad

  1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).

  2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.

  this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

  I find the tread I little bit amusing. JW good points > JW bad points. But your points though are a good comprehensive catalog of JW ideas, you think obviously very positive.

  As for argument 1: Character change into good personality?

  I was a well-balanced young teenager with positive life attitude,

  meriful and loving, non smoker, I had absolutely no destructive side, i liked the bible., was no atheist.

  and they made of me an obeying societyman who had to adopted destructive

  unloving teachings false hopes, not allowed to go out, to learn dancing, got socially isolated

  and sacrificed my higher education, because the world is evil. Then I had part-time job for pioneering, what was very restrictive for my life plan (as male), everything worthless now.

  I had to get rid of the character changes they made with me to become happy and free.

  The christian god doesnt want to transform us by teachings, but is mercy, love and loving kindness per see,

  I think that it was not the teachings that was so much overwhelming, but more the loving kindness of the JW members that convinced me and that I wanted to imitate.

  The pionieer spirit for example, i liked it.

  The simple life,

  the humble attitude.

  Human examples I liked to imitate in my teenager area.

  But I think that these individuals who were my good examples, were good people already before they became JW and not only by the teachings and charakter change, they were rather hindered to be merciful by the strict organisation rules.

  Some JW had always problems because they could not change their character completly and remained drinkers or had other bad behaviours with wife or family (those underdogs in the congregation i did not want to have contact with then).   those of you who read my last post, about two weeks ago, know i'm in a dilemma.

  i did not run like some posts suggested.

  i truly believe i found my soulmate.

  If you love her, you should not get in the middle of a complicated foreign marriage and let her go immediately.

  She should find out what she wants and deal with her matters herself before implicating you into a prospective later relationship with her.
