Russia being Russia. JWs there are used to it though, they survived the Soviet era.

RUSSIA: Many meetings raided and evidence planted
by ZAPPA-ESQUE inraids on jehovah's witness premises now take place more than three times per month.
these raids on doctrinally pacifist* religious communities often involve many heavily armed and camouflaged officials, with the "discovery" of apparently planted banned "extremist" literature.
legal dissolution of communities can follow.. http://www.forum18.org/archive.php?article_id=2228.

Wouldn't this in effect ban the religion? No matter how you go about defending these laws DJS, they are an attempt by the state against universal human rights, as repeated by various international courts.is to remove all references to the superiority of their religion over all others in their literature and teachings, such as Armageddon
Here's a video of some of Vlad's henchman attempting to plant the now banned Bible Teach book within the kingdom halls:

Another Outright Lie Published 2/17 WT
by LostGeneration inthis info is from the article "who is leading god's people today" feb 17 study edition.. to help them disseminate bible truth in various languages, zion’s watch tower tract society was legally incorporated in 1884, with brother russell as president.
* he was an outstanding student of the bible, and he fearlessly exposed as false such doctrines as the trinity and the immortality of the soul.
he discerned that christ would return invisibly and that “the appointed times of the nations” would end in 1914.. pretty sickening article overall about how badass the gb is, though this little gem is printed as well, paragraph 12. the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.

Sir82: If truth doesn't matter, what does? Sincerity? The WTS has spent over a century bashing other religion, and billions of adherents of those religions, who claim that "sincerity" is enough.
Exactly what i was thinking. If the faithful slave can err, then who's to say the pope or other religious leaders are not the real faithful slave? Wouldn't they have the right to err as well?

Yes, they are appealing to the very culture and lifestyle that has been criticised for over a century!
..I thought the same thing as I saw the Porsche being driven into the parking lot.

Jesus, the Great Convincer?
by Simon insupposedly the disciples witnessed jesus' super-power awesomeness first-hand.. so they were all 100% on-board to-the-death martyrs ... right?.
erm .... judas betrayed him.
thomas didn't believe he'd come back.

Good points Simon.
I myself could never understand how the 500 supposed witnesses from 1 Cor 15:6 that supposedly saw Jesus resurrected could be a reason for us to believe that the resurrection indeed happened. I've not met any of those witnesses, nor have I read their first hand account of the event, so as far as I'm concerned, the bible could say there were a million witnesses, it proves nothing.

Memorial Attendances This Year
by steve2 inhave attendance figures at this year's memorial been released yet, including number of partakers?
sometimes the kingdom ministry (now called christian life and ministry) provided local figures say for the country.. for two to three years the worldwide figure has hovered around the 19 plus million, with a drop off in attendance last year.. just wondered if there has been any change this year or if the downward trend has continued?
.

But I do wonder how long they will continue doing this when the worldwide attendances show opposing trends (general attendance: stagnating and some decline; partakers increased in 2015 by over 1,000 from 2014).
It's true steve2, I was thinking of that myself. As the stats get more and more somber, I'm guessing they'll be less and less inclined to print or make them public.

So getting disfellowshipped sounds kind of great.
by schnell ini grew up in this religion, i was baptized at 14, married at 27, and now i'm 31. i'm also evolutionist and atheist.
i wanted this to be the truth.
i spent years as an apologist trying to reconcile everything.

Question for Christians: What Religion are You Now?
by LaurenM ini know many on here are atheist.
but for the christians on here...what religion are you now that you are no longer a jw?
i'm still undecided as to whether i believe in god.
-
Sanchy
So does it ? or even should it matter what Christian religion you are today ? No God has ever sanctioned any of them these past 2000 years , why would you believe he / she is going to do so now,?
-Excellent point Smiddy. Early on in my exit, a similar thought process had a profound effect on me when determining that neither Watchtower nor any other religion display any evidence of being the chosen or correct one.
