" i enjoy this movie for many reasons, but most of all for it's satire on society.
one of my favorite scenes, and i should warn you that i know them all, is when king arthur walks up to peasants in the field and tries to explain that he is king of the britons.
This same scenario has occurred many times, and I knew that it wouldn't be long before the JWs began declaring that they are being "persecuted" because of their faith.
Other religious groups that experience media fallout for past indiscretions are lambasted by the WTS as being "wicked" and "having rotten fruit" that is finally being brought to light. They, on the other hand, are "persecuted" when their indiscretions finally see the light of day.
i called my mother yesterday and for some reason, the conversation drifted into dub-talk.
she was upset that some of my siblings were still at home, not concerned about looking for jobs or pursuing some kind of job training (the acceptable term for "going back to school", apparently).
none of these siblings are baptized, so pioneering is not even an issue.. anyway, i suggested that maybe they were discouraged because people around them (dubs, in particular) were harping on the idea that armageddon was "just around the corner" and that it seemed like a waste of time to pursue those activities.
Or maybe the vulture population is slowly increasing because the captive breeding programs are beginning to pay off and are bringing many types of vultures and condors back from the brink of extinction.

but it shows the end is near.

Sounds to me as if little Ned (in more ways than one) is simply trying to get a reaction from everyone. His comments are just too far out in left field to be believable.

Interesting question. Although I would feel badly for those who would die, the destruction of the major publishing arm of the WTS would, in some ways, be a relief, since there would be less opportunity for new ones to become enmeshed in the slow, lingering death that is the Society.

Welcome email. Your story is not all that unusual. The same type of thing happened to my husband.....when the elders decided that his questions were becoming a liability to them, they decided to get rid of him...one way or another.

i disassociated myself about 2 months ago after 15 years of very "faithful" service to the society.i was regular pioneer for 12 years and an elder for 8 years, i served mainly as the service overeer.my experience was published in the 2 of the society's magazins.. as i was a very zealous and prominent elder in my circuit i zealously promoted the organizational rules and i allowed myself to be fully used by the society to promote those mind controle techniques that now i know hurt those who were my sheep.
Welcome, Elon. We've all felt guilt for allowing this organization to run our lives....but we were all masterfully manipulated and honestly thought we were doing God's work.

Well, of course....this is absolutely right. How could we have been so foolish? (slapping forehead)
However, as it now stands, it's impossible to protect your children from everyone 24 hours a day...after all, even "Daddy" can be a molester.
Best way to "prevent" molestation then is to keep a few "breeding males" but lock them up securely and and bring them out only when their services are needed. Kill all the rest.
This should prevent MOST of the problem, since MOST pedophiles are male. Females can be allowed to live unless they show any tendencies toward pedophilia--in which case they should be summarily shot.
