Barbara Anderson article - outstanding!
by waiting inmikepence posted this article over at bboy's forum and it's well worth bringing over here.
if i offend anyone - it's not my intention.
it is my intention to continue with helping to shed new light on this hideous crime.

I push snooze on my alarm clock some mornings like 10 times before getting up...
I always mean to do this, but I generally put it off and just fall back to sleep.

To tell you the truth, I've always tended to be anti-crastinate. Never did like those crastinates much....and I STILL don't.

So I was put in the back of a police car....
by Mimilly inoops.... should start at the beginning of a story shouldn't i!
i've been lower than a serpent's belly as of late.
finances just got a whole lot worse; argued 5 times with monopolistic telephone company who took my payment (money from 'hubby') yet didn't re-connect me; went searching for my resume on hubby's computer and found child porn instead.

Mimilly, I'm so glad that you were able to get the help you needed. ***HUGS**** Your sense of humor will be a very big asset in getting you through things. I've been where you are now, and all I can tell you is that it CAN get better.
Cass, I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend.

Let's shake things up at Beliefnet
by professor ini've been reading and posting over at the jehovah's witnesses challenge & critique section of the mega-religion site beliefnet.
the moderator (a jw) is starting to get her undies in a bundle over some of the posts!
i think it would be cool if some others from here would go over there and rattle the cage a little.

I believe she is not a JW.
Pom, I've been corresponding with her. She is a JW....sort of. She has asked me not to reveal anything else.

It's about time you people got over there to help me out. Don't worry about Illyria. She's really okay, but she's trying desperately to keep things balanced.
Some of the major JW posters haven't been around for awhile. If you ever get a chance to meet her, RoseMaybud is a hoot. She does more to further the ex-JW cause than anyone I've ever seen.
Adam is the JW heavy on that site....arrogant and pompous. Follows me around all over the place warning everyone that I am an "opposer" and not to be trusted.
Been having some fun there telling the truth about the "truth". :)
Thanks for the compliment, Stephanus.

I guess I'm making up for lost time. I'm sampling lots of things that I never had time for as an active JW.....reading, needlework, writing children's stories, learning flute and guitar, internetting, trying to dabble in sculpture, riding my horse....you name it, I'll try it.

Should we care about "lurkers"?
by expatbrit inive noticed some discussion on the question of whether we should be concerned about moderating our behaviour because of what lurking jws will think.
should we be concerned about scaring off jws who may be starting to question the wt, or should anything go because if they can't deal with the real world it's not our problem and we should be ourselves?.
the following are some of my thoughts.

I think the salient point you brought out ExPat is about "being ourselves". There are many types of ex-JW boards on the Net, ranging from fundamentalist Christian, to Pagan, to homey-chatty, to research laden, etc.
In order to please any potential lurkers, ex-JWs would need to become homogenized....an expatriated (sorry, couldn't think of a better word) JW following the same rules of "unity" at all costs.
While some boards might prove offensive to a lurking JW, if they are serious about finding the truth about the truth, they will have a plethora of information to access.
The major reason for ex-JW boards, IMO, is to provide a community where EX JWs can discuss issues that concern them. These are not conversion (or de-conversion) boards, even though they may, at times, serve that purpose.
