it took the better part of 15 years but i believe we have finally arrived at that point where there is now a critical mass of former witnesses.. thousands of exjws come together on forums like this one and discuss findings, ideas and research.

there have been documentaries and even a movie made about life in the jehovah's witnesses.. ex jw websites, online forums, and discussion boards that set the wheels in motion in the early to late 90s have matured into powerful tools of social change within the organization.. the lies and false doctines taught by the watchtower bible & tract society are plainly accessible with just a cursory google search.. active elders leak boe letters, often weeks before they hit the notice board in a kingdom hall.. social media has allowed exjws to connect with those still in as well as those who have left.. the society have no game plan because information is power and they have lost the information war.

all they can do is cry wolf and warn the rank and file not to listen to apostates.. i don't know what future the society will face in the next ten years, but changing world events, social trends, and reactionary change from headquarters based on their own faulty biblical chronology has got them cornered like a raging animal.. it doesn't look good..

People that has been affected by this corporation, when freed tend to react very strongly against religion, puting them all in the same basket. In Catholic countries for example, many people don't practice their religion much or at all for whatever reason, but most would still defend the Church and respect believers despite all the propaganda against it. This is not the case with people that leaves cults, despite not being so much information in the media about them.

This is something they probably count on, and they seem to encourage it. So, one can only wonder at the effect all the millions that have been negatively affected by the WT will end up having in our ever more secular society.

Unfortunately this type of manipulation is not something exclusive of religious groups.

Not only was I a minor, but I was totally missinformed about the nature of this particular organization.

Also they seem to view the baptism as a contract by virtue of which the corporation invites itself to enter your life and start interfering with it in order to continue manipulating you, while they emphasize to the candidates that it is just the public demonstation of their private dedication to God.

So, it is kind of getting married while you are being told that you are just celebrating a birthday.

i wanted to know what problems you have learned about dating in the "truth" acording to there policy.

i feel like you dont really know someone until you live with them.

One of the things that becomes crystal clear with time is how the talks and articles are synchronized with whatever is happening in the congregation, even if it is a private thing between a couple. This not only relates to dating though.

It is a shame all the effort they put in finding out about people's private business is not put in creating healthy relationships with them instead, and all their emphasis in providing food at the proper time is rather not put on doing good deeds at the proper time.

Once you leave you realize that you were in an abusive, controlling relationship with THEM with everything that this entails.

hi all, i haven't posted here in quite some time.. just as an update, about two years ago, my wife and i moved to a big city about 500 miles away from the town in which we grew up.

we made this move in part to expedite the fading process, which was successful.

when we moved, as i described in an earlier post, we formally transferred from our home cong (where our families are) to a local cong in our new city, and then transferred twice more so as to get lost in the shuffle.

They are known to visit inactive ones even years after they leave.

You can think of good answers to give them when they come by (lies) or you can write the letter and move on with your life.

my atheist, agnostic and deist family members, why don't we attack this insanity more?

dr. richard dawkins is finally calling out islam for it's true nature, i hope he is balanced because i don't want him to get killed by these whack jobs.

i enjoy listening to dr. dawkins debate and would like him to attack their false religion like he lambaste's christians, i guess it's a tight-wire act he must follow or they would kill him.

For what I know this doees not even apply to the whole of Russia but only to some cities.

In any case, the freedom of the WT means that they are free to scam, manipulate, stick their noses in people's private lives, and stalk, slander, and otherwise complicate the lives of people that chooses to leave their spiritual hell by interfering with all relations they formerly had and by creating uncomfortable situations at school or work, or wherever it is they have the bad luck of meeting them.

We should have been wiser before accepting a Bible study from them sure, so should the person that buys a scrap at the car dealer. But the car dealer still needs to be dealt with.

Personally the only reason I can think of as to why the american government allows their freedom to continue undisturbed, is because somehow they must be benefiting from it.

We can be grateful that they are not allowed to stone apostates as it was done in the old days in Israel. Still socially excluding somebody and separating them from all former friends (even if they happen to be drones) as the WT does is a form of abuse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn6kmhNdcYg
