If shunning were so important Jesus would have stressed it, but he did not.

WHO would Jesus Christ DIS-FELLOWSHIP? A look at the problem of DF-ing
by Terry inloving and forgiving are a huge component of jesus' message to his disciples.. in answer to the question as to how many times forgiveness should be offered to an offender, jesus gave the reply, "seventy (times) seven.
" (variously interpreted as either 77 times or a multiple of 70 times 7).. an example is given of a man who owed a considerable sum of money whose debt was forgiven.
this man failed to forgive a much smaller debt owed to him.

Rules for congregation changes
by UFCFan infirst of all, this post i made on another thread sums up why i want to change congregations so bad.. "theres the other teenagers at the kingdom hall but it's not like i can tell them anything about how i really feel because they're all brainwashed and they'll tell the elders if i tell them something questionable.
there's a girl i like that goes to my hall but i know i'll never be able to be with her because by the time i'm old enough to date by the watchtower's standards, i'll have moved away.. the worst thing is i can't even fake everything well enough to fit in with the other teens at the hall.
i'm always the outcast and if i talk sometimes the so called 'friends' will straight ignore me, even the ones that say they're my best friends.

I've had witness classmates who befriended their classmates. Just because you can't go to parties or invite them over, doesn't mean you can't build meaningful friendships during school hours.

Tell the elders how you feel, maybe they can suggest to your parents to let you visit other halls and meet other youths. Also, don't just limit yourself to friends ships in the congregation, reach out to your school mates, neighbors etc.

The Double Life Of A Jehovah's Witness
by minimus inmany jws are hypocrites.
they lie, cheat, swear, get drunk, fool around, etc..... just because someone is a pioneer, or a ministerial servant or an elder--- it means nothing.
some of the "finest examples", are two faced "christians"..

Exactly titles mean nothing!

Watchtower "litter-ature"
by Rufus T. Firefly inin the town where i live, it became customary some years ago for the pioneers to do the actual door-to-door work during the week, and their not-at-home records would provide the territory for the rank-and-file publishers on the weekends.
also, car groups of publishers would get an early start by driving around to the apartment complexes in their territory and leaving older issues of the magazines in the laundry rooms, a practice some called stealth witnessing.
many so-call publishers do nothing but stealth witnessing and wouldnt know how to actually talk to someone if they had to.

Sounds exactly like the pioneers in my hall.

Help me help my DF'd friend
by OneEyedJoe inso i got a text from a friend of mine today telling me that he'd been df'd.
since i'm still nominally a witness, this puts me in a tricky spot.
i intend to tell him in no uncertain terms that i will not shun him, but i'm not sure where to go beyond that.

Just tell him that he will always be your friend. Then immediately stop talking about the org. Tell him of all the fun things he should now pursue. You can't trust him fully right now, because he may return to the org. Let him know that life goes on.

for some reason i just can't seem to bring myself to go to the jw.org site.
i find it just to painful.

If you do return you will confirm that there is no where else to go except back to a man made religion.
