Would you go running back?

if the tribulations started tomorrow, and all you knew of the bible was what the jws had told you, would you suddenly think, "they said this would happen, and it is, therefore they must be right", and go running back?.

or would you think, "just because eventually biblical prophiesies came to pass that "they" had read you from the bible, doesnt mean they are the chosen religion, because they get all these other doctrines wrong", and know these doctrines well enough to be able to convince yourselves.. .

replies such as "it wont happen cause its a fairy story" wont really help..

No, I dont have lingering thoughts that "they may be right", or even that those of you that have left do, rather, as somebody who does belive in God and the Bible, I wonder if, in the face of a personal experience of great tribulation, say world war 3 for example, if a lifetime of indoctrination from the JWs would resurface in the abscence of any other intellectual refuge for those of us who for whatever reason, have not prepared for such an eventuality.

Meaning, whilst at the moment you feel safe to have abandoned anything Spiritual, would fearing for your lives cause you to flee back to the only place you ever knew that seemed to offer salvation, that if they got 10% right, then they must be 100% right?

And no, Iam not recommending such, I consider the 90% they get wrong invalidates the accidental 10% my senario has them get right.

Are the Jews meek?

i thought these were pretty surprising comments in the consolation magazine in 1946, just a few months after the full horrors of the holocaust emerged, under the heading "are the jews meek?":.

"there is no evidence in the scriptures that the jews as a people are meek.

on the contrary, jehovah's witnesses only find it stated in the bible that the jews are "stiff-necked and hard-hearted", but when they call at their homes with the message of god's kingdom they witness the same characteristics.

Do please remind me of the scriptures, they sound familier but most such scriptures talk about the Nation of Israel rather than the Nation of Jews, people do get confused when they see a bunch of white folk from South Russia who call themselves Jews inhabiting Palestine and they assume its scripture coming to pass, where in fact God will regather Israel, not just Judah, that is 12 tribes not just 1.

Just because we no longer know who is decended from the Lost tribes of Israel, doesnt mean God doesnt know.

Have you ever wondered if the bible has been totally "rewritten" and the real message Jesus taught was love.

sometimes when i play the devil adovacate and play the pros and cons of the bible as it is i often wonder what if the bible really does support homosexuality, premarital sex, masturbation, and other things believers "cringe" at the thought of.

maybe jesus really only taught us to love people and not spend so much time debating religion.

i know some "evagelical christians" that have so much "hate" in their hearts against others that don't believe as they do it makes you wonder where is the christian love?

I like to think all the laws and condemnations of the Bible are there to make us realise what undeserving sinners we are, so that when we find we are saved by Gods grace, we Love him for his mercy.

Surely the only thing God cannot create or force is our Love for him, it can only be earned by his actions towards us.

Without the knowledge of how unworthy we are and deserving of death, we would be just like the JWs who are so perfect and do so much field service that God owes them everlasting life, they are going to miss out on gratitude if they feel they have nothing to be gratefull for.

Jesus said the miserable sinner was more righteous than those who felt they where allready righteous enough.

wardrobe 'malfunction' while in service

Just like Aussieoz, on field service, I was the driver, had about 3 others in tow, suddenly a really bad case of the "gastro", as I felt it coming on it was "come on, Ive really got to get going, fast", of course the others didnt share my urgency, but I soon had them running with the threat of having to leave them there.

Of course by this time its getting steadily worst, so Iam driving down these country "b" roads at 70mph, screached to a halt at my house, ran in and just made it!.

Another incidence, more amusing than embarrasing, this householder had a glass front door and two gorgeous big dogs, she just shut the door for a minute whilst she went to get some change for the mags, I was with a really hot sister, whilst one of the dogs was looking at us through the door, the other decided this would be a good time to mate, so me and this sister have these dogs right in front of us, looking at us whilst doing doggie love, and then the householder, (who was also a rather attractive women, came back.

Why wasn't the Issue of Universal Sovereignty raised amongst the angels long before Adam and Eve

if there were millions of angels in existence long before adam and eve were created, how come god's sovereignty wasn't challenged in heaven long before the garden of eden?

why did this so-called issue only begin when adam and eve appeared?

how could there not be a single rebellious angel before the appearance of humans?

Maybe this issue had been raised and Mankind was as Tootired suggests, the test to answer the question raised previous to mans creation.

See, I have often wonedred how fortuitous it was, that Satan tempted Adam and Eve before they had any kids, imagine the senario if they had a couple of kids first, then sinned and the kids didnt, we would have half the world as we are now, and the other half consisting of 7000 year old perfect people who wouldnt have been able to talk to us in case they learnt our bad ways.

So it had to have kicked off right from the start, just like a tesy that had been prearranged.

Either that or God moved all the perfect people to live inside a "Hollow Earth" and now they come visit us in their flying saucers?

Not a lot of Reggae I like, but playing Grand theft Auto, where you drive around in your car with a radio you can tune ito your favourite music, I discovered Heavy Dub!

That music was so good I just drove my computer car to a grassy knoll, and just sat there listening to that wonderfull dub, then I went on Amazon.com and bought a load of Dub albums.

Does this thread include Dub?
