My husband is convinced that he's seen a man in a trench coat in our hallway a couple times...he is convinced it's a demon.I asked him how come I've never seen him, since I'm the apostate....he said satan already has me.Whatever....doesn't make much sense to me!

Just saw a 'Ghost' or something....
by Crazy151drinker inok the weirdest thing just happened to my coworker and i. we went to go pickup our breakfast from accross the street.
when we got back to our building we walked over to the elevators and as we turned the corner we saw someone get into the elevator before it closed.
we didnt see the person exactly but we saw their leg or whatever passthrough before the door closed.

My mom became a witness when I was 4,my dad never became one.My dad didn't care too much....he was glad he didn't have to spend money buying us b-day and x-mas gifts. He let my mom do what she wanted. They divorced when I was 9.When we would go visit him,we would have so much witness guilt embedded in us,that even if he wanted to celebrate something with us,we wouldn't allow it,for fear my mom would find out.We certainly didn't have the best of both worlds!
Now I am the unbelieving mate, and I know my kids suffer because of it.I am an inactive baptised witness, and as much as I'd like to do certain things(such as holidays, etc)with my kids,I don't,because I don't want to cause problems in my marriage. The one thing my kids do know,is that whatever decisions they make,I will be there to back them up.I do wish that I had that when I was growing up!My dad wasn't around enough to support me if I didn't want the troof growing up,and my mom certainly would not have supported me if I didn't.

Watch your language boy/girl
by JH inwhen we were in the org, we had to watch our language, and speak correctly and never swear.
people knew we were jw's just by the way we dressed, but also by the way we talked.
do you still talk in the same polite way as before?edited by - jh on 4 february 2003 19:29:28.

Nina,
That is soooo funny. When you make it a point not to swear around kids, if you do slip up, (even once) they never ever let you forget it! My husband said a swear word once (and he's the one who goes to the hall...lol) and my kids don't ever let him forget it!

I swear sometimes when I am with friends.
I never swear at home or in front of my children. They get enough of that at school.
I love the fact that all my friends are "worldly" so I don't have to be worried I will say the wrong thing all the time!

Who has a March 15th mag so they can tell me...
by truthseekers2 in...what lesson my husband's mom is wanting to mail to us?
she emailed today and said she wanted to ask if we are still getting any watchtowers in the mail or if someone brings them to us because in the march 15th magazine is a very good lesson she wishes we would read.
i'm just wondering if someone has the mag and can tell us what lesson she is talking about.

hmmmm.....found the magazine......not quite sure what article your mother in law wants you to see.The study articles seem to be about being patient if we have questions that don't seem to be answered....to wait on Jehovah and not drift away.quote "When Jehovah provides direction by means of his Word, his spirit, and his earthly organization, let us listen carefully. If we do so,Jehovah will bless us...."
Then there is an article "the lips of truth will endure forever".Not quite sure which of these stands out in her mind. They're all mindless drivel.

I checked out the additional pictures posted.
"Jehovah will destroy the bad ones who will not change"
I guess the kitty cat in the bottom right corner of the second picture didn't change! That's why he is being destroyed too!!!!
Seriously though, the last picture was a little disturbing. The dead bodies looked a little too real!Glad that one wasn't out when I was little.....the Paradise Lost book was enough for me!

Anybody here ever go on chaperoned dates?
by unbeliever ini use to get the biggest chuckle when the elders insisted that when going out on a date that someone older and mature had to go with you to make sure you don't fornicate.
how imposing!!
i have a friend (did the fade) that was stuck with her brother being the chaperone a couple of times when she was dating her then boyfriend.

I always hated the stupid chaperone stuff. My younger brother was the one who got the pleasure of coming with my now husband and I.He loved it though because he got free food and movie tickets.
The first time we ever got to go out unchaperoned was the night we got engaged.
Silly religion,silly rules!

When I was little and we didn't have the Bible Stories book yet,the Paradise Lost book was what I looked at all the time.I used to stare at those pictures above for hours, and I would feel really sad for the people in the picture.I would also feel scared for myself, thinking that at Armageddon that could be me falling through the earth!Ahhhh, such happy memories....
