Sinister.Com was registered September 3rd, 1995, roughly 15 months earlier, and had been in 'full swing' since the beginning of November, 1995. When it started, sinister ran Slackware linux, with 40MB of RAM and 2GB of disk space, on a Pentium 90. The modem was a Hayes 28.8k bps one, connected via PPP to the ISP TIAC.net, with DNS provided by l0pht.com. That machine, much in its original condition, still exists in a dusty basement, as testament to those heady days.

I ran across this on the evil internet. I was using the internet before this while attending the University but most of the people I knew who did not attend school did not have a computer at home. It has not been decades as
the article states but we know the WT is not reliable.
