Blondie...excellent review and keen observations also...if Jehovah cares at all about JW's, he must really cringe at their methods and general efforts in the "field ministry"...I've seen exactly what you indicate...overall half hearted effort...little real preparation..."put in the time attitude"...I wasn't much different in my time...now I think JW's are even more apathetic and careless...thanks again

i mean the ones that think they are too good to serve you (or you are not good enough to deal with).. as i posted previously, my last contract ended a few weeks ago and i got another that will involve a bit more travel than normal so am looking to get a better car to eat up the mileage and provide a bit more safety.
contract hire just to get me to and from work safely and efficiently.
I am quite aggressive and actually like dealing with the dealers...usually do quite well als...check out the following site...it's the best I've seen in giving you the full idea of how a dealership works and what to do and not do (Never give your license)

i have been df'd for over 3 years (for the third time... you know it's the charm).
i have an 8 year old who is being taught by my parents the same things that i was taught, including how we can't celebrate birthdays.
i have been doing a little research on the origin of worldly customs, such as weddings and birthdays only to find that there are many wedding customs that witnesses have adopted that have pegan origins.
Even as an elder, I had a real problem with the not celebrating birthdays bit..." the day of death is more important than the day of birth"...only bad things (beheadings) happened on the only birthdates mentioed inthe bible...yada, yada...
Yet...couples celebrate their wedding anniversary all the time...that's very much like a birthday as it is a celebration of the years one was wed...like a birthday is a celebration of the years one was born...
the WTS also has said that we do not want to give undue honor to any human on any date for any reason

also re honor and prestige...I know many elders who get real puffed up when they are announced to give a talk or better uet are announced as the speaker at a DC or CA...
talk about screwed up...doe Jah really look down on someone having a bithday?...not very likely

Portland Maine in May 2005...5000+ in attendance...9 count em 9 baptized...incl 7 kids of JW's...the new recruite in the NE area seem to be waning...
i was curious to see if i knew anyone that would post on a jw dating site so i checked out jw connections that is linked to on this page.
i did not find anyone i know but i was kinda shocked to see the number of ones there that were "divorced, but free to marry".
is this a big problem now or is it just that more divorced jw's use the web to find "mates".
Netty...right on...how about this scenario...want a divorce so you commit adultery with someone than "repent"...advise your spouse to leave you because of your infraction...meanwhile tell the elders it was just a moment of weakness and get off with reproof vs being dfd...I've personally experienced this one...a JW guide to using the rules to end your marriage...

my favorite...that only JW's (all 6 million) will be saved...if that 's the case...Jah better have prozac growing on trees because many of these are really "depressed souls"...and will need an antidepressant in big doses...

i thought it would be interesting for those of us who still attend the meetings to let everyone know what our local needs part was/will be this week.
(the km allots 15 minutes to local needs at this weeks service meeting).
ours will be on meeting attendance.
Local needs talk her in my cong (Mass) is on "apostacy"...a whacko began to partake recently (last year and this year) and is beginning to spout his own ideas as part of the "F&D slave" class...a real riot !!! Elders don't know what to do...CO came and is putting the clamps down...this person will be tossed if he doesn't shut up soon...everyone now avoids this "anointed brother of Christ" as if he has the plague...WTF?
this is going to get good...a reenactment of the Salem witch trials except ..."I am there"...

my aunt loyal wife and uncle smooth talking elder were married over 30 years.
they had 4 children and he owned a small business.
he always employed witnesses.
I think this type of "activity" in "Jehovah's pure organization" is pretty rampant...I live on the east coast and know of two similiar situations where "prominent" ones (elders) got the hots for the local talent and decided to do the nasty - quietly until they got caught...both instances the elders were able to "cop a plea" by knowing the committee rules and just got publically reproved...whatever that means in JW dom...another case happened to someone in my family in the upper west...hubby...former elder (bounced do to pornographyseveral years ago) was on the fast track again and was appointed a MS...two years later...he's shagging a local pioneer with a kid who's the wife of a local elder in the same congo...all hell broke out...even the neighbors know something was up...but...the adulterer (associated with a local prominent aka money bags family) was able to show "repentance (and teach his new flame how to do that too - though she was able to leave the kid to her elder hubby so she could "move on") so both were just publicaly reproved...for about 6 months...now both have full priveleges again (though he is not an MS) and both will become fast track again...and this is the quality of some of the low lifes walking the streets in the interest of the "good news" telling those in the "world" what they must do to get saved...yeah...join them...major joke and these clowns all think they're part of a wholesome org whose members will only get saved...who would want to be with the likes of these people anyway...?

hello everyone, i was raised in the borg from about 1983 till i fell away around 1998. i have only been to a couple of memorials over the years and i have lost touch with alot of people that i care about.
just wondering if there were any other ex-witnesses on this board from the hollywood area.
i went to the north cong and new alot of people from other halls in hollywood, davie and pines.
