  Removing Historic Monuments and Statues - Does the Term "Historical" Make it Right or Wrong?

  after further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.

  you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.

  would it be good for a person (think jewish) to drive around a city and see hitler in a public park, even though it is "historical?

  Both Russell and early Rutherford writes a lot about social injustices. Russell's Volume 4 the Battle of Armegeddon and Rutherford's Reconciliation have passages that are heavy on social indignation about the US socities of their day. Some have described Marxism as Millenianism without God. Later Rutherford and JW since were a lot more occupied with condemning the old world and saving their own souls. The dreams of Russellism were higher more idealistic.

  Aren`t These Two Scriptures At Odds With Each Other ?

  romans 13 ,1-7 contrast with 2 cor.4 : 3-6 ,on the one hand the faithful are to be obedient to the superior authorities ,worldly government ,law enforcement ,etc, as its gods arrangement and to go against it is to go against god ?.

  then 2 cor .4 : 3-6 states that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one satan the devil and if you are obedient to that you are supporting satan`s system of things and going against gods arrangement ?.

  what sort of mental gymnastics do you need to acquire to accept both of these scriptures and keep your sanity ?.

  Huh atheists, I see No problem. Romans 13 deals with public Law and order, 2 Corinthians 4 the gospel. The issue here may be that JWs taught you have to be disobedient to the government on certain issues as part of you "Christian" JW duty 😁😁😁

  It was always the few who stood up. The few who were burned at the stake while the crowd cheared. That is how humans work. We see in Nazi Germany and its Communist counterparts as well. Most people see and learn. It does not end well to oppose the strong hand who is willing to exercise great brutality. There would be no North Korea without great brutality and there would be no 8 million JW members without the system's willingness to execute great spiritual brutality.

  Mistakes will always me made. Cops are humans and make mistakes. The police started in Europe out as the king's bully boys who were simply meant to beat up trouble makers. It was less bloody than the the soldiers swords and bayonets. Maybe next step in the evolution of the policeman is get him better educated, paid better, cutting edge weapons and dismiss those that have mental issues. But we also have an increasinly rude and undisciplined Western / European population. I remember reading as kid about how a crowd had thrown rocks at the police and thinking why did they not respond with deadly fire at such an totally unacceptable action? Things fall apart when we have no law and order.

  It seems there is a plan to promote unrest and this unrest demands more control and less freedom. You keep in line and do as we say or we fine and confine you. Decreasing public freedom has always been a driven motivation of the world powers, at least outside the US.
