Do You Have A Negative Outlook Because You Were Once A JW?
by minimus init could be argued that exjws have issues in life simply because they were jehovah’s witnesses at a point in their lives.
.
do you think you or we are fairly normal considering we were jehovah’s witnesses or do you think we have a lot of baggage because we are a bit messed up ( even if we don’t even know it)?.

JW Mother Dying.... Not a Big Deal.... But it Should Be
by Zoos ini’ve been shunned for many years so her passing doesn’t really constitute a loss for me.
her and her husband made it clear many years ago they didn’t want a homo in their family.
request granted.

Zoos - Its ok to mourn.
Its ok to mourn your mom's death, and it's ok to mourn the experiences in life you lost, or were stolen from you by the cult.
If you don't experience some type of mourning, you might have issues down the road that you can't foresee.
This might be a good time to find someone to talk to who has experience in this area. It may help take a burden off your back, and help you deal with it better. It is not a trivial thing.

Yes the difference between AR and M is one is auto and one is not ----- Unless you buy a bump stock and then use it to mow down lots of people. Tell me why did the Los Vegas mass murderer use an AR15? Was it because it was just like a Ruger or Remington? Or was it because for a few bucks he could make it into a M16 style weapon?
I wonder why (not saying you - everyone is NOT like this), gun lovers are not happy with the Ruger or Remington as you talked about?
Does it have to do that the AR is a Military style weapon with large clips? Why do the magazines and web communities around those guns always talk about and show military or militia iconography and talk about the government taking "our guns". And why are so many owners also dressed in military (not hunting) garb.
FYI - I grew up with guns. My dad and mom were both hunters. I have no problem with guns for hunting, I do have a problem with people who fetishize guns and feel like their desire for a deadly weapon overrules public safety.
This does not look like something for shooting deer or rabbits.

"Love Never Fails" ... Really ?
by Finkelstein in" love never fails " is the main assembly headline for this years district assemblies for the jws and what a contrived lark that is .
the jws leaders have created doctrines to which the organization's followers obeyed accordingly which have killed thousands , destroyed families and indirectly caused numerous suicides.
these men have instituted such doctrines such as refusing blood transfusions, vaccinations and organ transplants at one time, they still uphold the no blood transfusion doctrine though.

In my 50 years as a JW, I never saw any time that Shunning was a "positive" thing.
Though I do know of 2 people who were shunned due to addictions (one was for smoking, one for drinking).
The shunning by their friends and family worked great! It crushed their world, and at a time they needed family more than ever, they both (in different decades) chose suicide to cope with their pain.

An AR15 is just a semi auto rifle. Works no different than a Remington 7400 or a Ruger 1022. It is just the ignorant fools who listen to the BS of the Media and think they know what they are talking about.
Ah, I guess that's why that style of rifle is used by the Armed Services, as well as a fav of so many mass shooting perpetrators.

Anna, not sure what your point is?
Are you justifying shunning?

I always try and Temper my comments with the thought that "It was what I was doing for many years".
I still remember giving a 20 min local needs on how to act properly with DFed friends and family.
It was a great talk. I was very loving and understanding. Acknowledging the pain and the confliction. My sister was DFed at the time. I talked about how hard it was for us, and how Jah experienced it himself, and all the other bullshit to make it seem like it was the right thing and the best thing for the DFed person. After the meeting, every family with a DFed person came up to me to thank me. UHG :(
I look back and have many regrets at being an "exceptional" speaker. I hate that I motivated many people to be stronger in the cult. I also helped 2 people to baptism, and 2 others that regularly attend, though not baptised.
I WAS the problem for a long time, even though I was never the dogmatic, idolog, ruling class, thoughtless elder we generally get.
No matter what we did as JWs, elders or publishers, we were part of the problem during that time, and we should always remember it.

Nathan DUDE! She was giving a short interview helping people understand what it was like being a JW.
She was NOT conducting a Bible Study.
There are MANY details she left out that Bible Studies would only know after weeks, months, or years of being in JW land.
Really, she should only be praised for not only leaving the cult, but being brave enough to expose her soul as well as embarrassing details about her life, all the while EXPOSING what JWs are all about.
Not many (including me) in this forum have or will be doing what she is.

OMG you can't imagine the FreakOuts because I played Dungeons and Dragons in Middle and High School (late 70's early 80's).
The number of times I had to dig my Books out of the garbage.
Somehow I never killed my cat, raped a girl, worshiped satan, or turned to a life of murder and drugs?
Go figure???
