This teacher needs to be fired. I saw the article yesterday, and as blondie said, this teacher forced his hand not once, but on a second occassion as well. This child was humiliated at only 6, trying to do what his parents told him would please God, and will probably carry the memory of this humiliation for the rest of his school years. What she did is illegal, she has no compassion for children, and should not be allowed to teach them. She needs to get her degree to teach at the college level, where the students can fight back.

Spring hill fl JW kid is forced to pledge allegiance tothe flag

there was a little jw kid whose teacher made him stand up and salute the flag and/or say the pledge in class.
he went to the administrator and she got suspended.....my lord the jws are going to be shouting great trib over this.

Drop the bomb!

you should'a been there.. (this is the second time in less than 2 months i have dropped this particular bomb on a bro and in this manner).
before i tell the story, which you will enjoy, note that i have remained "in" the org for many years after finding out the ttatt.. 1) for the sake of family (limited time left).

My friends visitation is tonight all of her JW family will be there
by troubled mind intoday i need some encouraging support ..i will be attending my friends funeral visitation tonight .. we had been jws together since childhood ,and then three yrs ago she was dfd .
we have supported each other these past few yrs with encouragement .she comes from a huge jw family, and they all plan on attending tonight.
i have known them all my life ,and they hate me for leaving the cult.

Try to stay calm and be gracious in order to honor your dear friend. It might be hard, but you can do it. Don't give the ones that likje to gossip anything to talk about. Talk about what an exceptional person your friend was, loving, forgiving, kind. Did she still believe in God? Perhaps you could comment on how she valued her relationship with Him.
Please know that many of us on here will be thinking of you. You know you can come here to vent when it's over, so if you're angry, bring it back here.

wakingup, I was in the same place as you. I had no family in, so I just wrote a letter DA'ing, telling them I found some of their doctrines to be false after doing some research, & I wanted NO ONE TO CONTACT ME, and wished them well. Haven't heard a peep.
Find a church you feel comfortable at. It may take a while, but you will find one. All the best to you!

This woman left 2 small children alone, the house caught fire, the children DIED, PROBABLY TERRIFIED, she shows no emotion, says she doesn regret leaving them alone, doesn't know if maybe they started it ( clueless that if they had not been left alone, that fire may have been prevented or not gotten out of control, and those babie would not be dead), and is worried about getting her purse from the house with her food stamp card?!!!
