so where do you start?.
i've been reading peoples experiences for several months now trying to figure out what i want to say but how do you put your whole life into a few words?.
i was a born in but have been happy and free for 5 years and luckily for me my husband felt the same way and we have freed our children from being brainwashed.

i disassociated myself about 8 years ago.
went through a divorce and shunning from most my family.
That makes me sick to my stomach. I truly hope you can make some headway in planting seeds of doubt over the next 5 months. There are quite a few good suggestions you have been offered. You know what most likely will work for you. And he may love his little sister too much to not have contact with her. Little ones can have that effect on us! All the best to you!

as the title suggests, there is a young man studying the bible teach book and attending meetings.
at every meeting that he has attended, there have been some really cultish comments.
of course i hear them loud and clear now, and for years then were coming through, that is why i woke up.. anyway, at the meeting i was sitting there, hating it, listening to all the emotion comments from the audience.
Aussie Oz has a good point. Please find out a bit about him first. Then, if he is simply a gullible soul, and you need to protect yourself, I would do as some others have suggested, and discreetly & ANONYMOUSLY get some information in his hands. Nothing in your own handwriting, only printed out from the computer, with nothing on it that could be traced back to you. Snail mail may be the safest way, with a printed address label, no return address. printouts from jwfacts sounds like a great idea. Also perhaps a mention of CoC in what you send?
Does anyone else find it hard to believe that with all the information so easily available on the net today, that anyone would actually study with the witnesses?!

good day...so this is the conversation i had with a co-worker of mine i mentioned in an earlier thread...shes a jw and doesnt know that i was associated with the jws before and that im a fader.
You need to do some witnessing! Since she brought her religion up, time to SLOWLY share with her things you have come across about jw's after your conversations with her. She made you curious, so you did some research.
i am a jw (still active).
i like discussing with others and i think this is a great place to do so.
hopefully this can be fun and a learning experience for all of us.

i just need to vent,you see i was a born in.it's taken me 20 years after fading from the org to finally get my mind free from the wt dogma.i was on the phone with my aunt today and the subject of my mother her older sister came up.now mind you i haven't spoken to my mother in a month or so after my daughter stayed the weekend at her house and she was being tag teamed about the hall and how i took a vow to jehovah and i'm a failure and i'll be destroyed at armagedon.this exchange upset my daughter so much that she was near the point of tears when she returned home and she hasnt spoken to my mother or father since.anyway back to the conversation with my aunt,she let it slip that my mother told her that she wished she had let the seamen that fertilized the egg that produced me had slid down her legnno bear in mind i can remember as a child running into her room playing and she would say to me as a 7 year old child "i wished i had left you in oblivion"this is one of many such saying my mother had for me......i wasn't a bad child i just wasn't allowed to do anything such as going outside going over a friends house....etc,i have struggled for years as to why this woman hates me so.i got baptized at 15 really as a way of pleasing them what the hell does a child know at 15??
?granted it took me some time to get myself together and put those hurtful comments in the past,but today when my aunt let it slip about what my mother has said about me it was like pulling a scap off of a wound.my wife always complains about how im emotionless and distance,this was done by me as a way of protecting myself.so i've decided and i hate to say this that my christian god fearing parents...are dead to me there is no way i can have a relationship with people that are so wicked and since she never wanted me anyway....it works out for the best thx i just needed to vent i felt like i was going to pop..
20yearfader, my heart hurts for you. I can't imagine having a parent so mean and unchristian. If you can, please try and get some counseling so you can get some healing and this does not affect your relationship as much with your own wife and child. And please don't allow your parents any more contact with your daughter. Your parents attitude about their own child is about as unscriptural as I can think of. The people on here care, and wish you well. Live a happy life with your own loving family.

My sympathies for your loss. Losing a parent is so difficult, and you should not have to compromise on how you wish to memorialize your loved one. I have been to non-witness funerals where cd's were played at the funeral home. Is it possible for you to have the service somewhere else, and do as you feel is appropriate for your Father? I hope things go smoothly for you as you deal with your grief.

during our first year out together, we had so much to share and to have in common, the enemy of the organization now, birthday parties galore, going out and making friends with people.
May I add my 2 cents in here? You have been given some great advice here by oodad, jgnat and dazed. Would your wife consider going to marriage counseling with you? It sounds like you have love and respect for each other, but need some help in figuring out where to go from here. Your whole world view had changed, the structure you were used to your whole lives is no longer there, you have choices you never had before. The honeymoon phase of leaving is over. Perhaps a professional can help you figure out what you both want/need. Just check them out first, cause not every counselor is right for every couple. I hope you will consider this since you have children. All the best to you and your wife, and congratulations on getting out together!

i usually can't hear someone knocking on the door of our enclosed porch, so i haven't spoken to a jw in person in the ten years that we've been at this house.
and being that the temperatures are currently very cold in northeast ohio, i suppose the jws are doing telephone witnessing.
so, today i had the opportunity to talk to two real live jws.
