Watchtower January 2022 The Memorial
by Listener innext years memorial article focuses on the two class system that they promote.. interestingly, they mention how the anointed are in two covenants.
the new covenant and the kingdom covenant.
they claim that both of these covenants opened up the way for a small number to become kings and priests in heaven.

The point mentioned by Morris is not something new, they mentioned it in 2011 Annual meeting too when they launched the Warwick HQ project. This is what Guy Pierce said:
“Has the Governing Body changed its mind about the closeness of the great tribulation?” asked Brother Pierce. “Not at all,” he answered. “If the great tribulation interrupts our plans, that will be wonderful, absolutely wonderful!”
https://www.jw.org/en/library/magazines/w20120815/A-Meeting-Marked-by-Unity-and-Thrilling-Plans/
and the point about these facilities being used in the NEw World was also made long back in 2006 the video "Jehovah's Witnesses - Organised to share the good news:
"To that end, the building of branch facilities,...in the new world...it may be that many of these fine facilities will continue to be used as centers of education."

How about chapter 6, where partaking of the symbolic flesh and blood is a prerequisite for getting to enjoy the benefit of the payment
A few questions:
1. When Jesus uttered the words in John 6, was Jesus referring to the symbolic eating and drinking of the bread and wine at the Lord's evening meal? There was a gap of one year between the events of John 6 and the institution of the memorial.
2. If Jesus included everyone in "anyone who partakes", then why did he institute the memorial with only his 11 apostles? Is there an indication that he invited everyone, and only his 11 apostles turned up?

the herd of elephants in today's wt study.
by waton infor friends of "truth" about the wt theme: "what do we learn from jesus' last words?
if you learned anything, even in the greatest distress you do not utter the sacred name.
the article is full of "jehovahs" but not once did jesus himself actually use the term.

Hi waton, thanks for the explanation.
However, it is difficult for me to follow the thought. I am not sure if the sanctity of a name lessens by the mere frequency of its usage when it itself appears more than 6,800 times in the Hebrew text. In the Psalms alone it appears about 700 times. In fact, in the Hallel, which is sung by Jews, it appears 60 times.
The Hallel even contains a verse, "Blessed is the one who comes in the name of Jehovah", which people sang when welcoming Jesus in Jerusalem. In fact, many verses in Psalms show the importance of knowing the name, trusting the name, and taking refuge in the name.
The crown jewels are the private property of the queen which remains at her disposal, and she decided how to use it and we respect. The creator himself included the name about 6,800 times in the scriptures and has asked people to read it daily. Why would he do so, if he wanted no one to use it?
All of this makes me skeptical of the opinion that Jesus never used the divine name.
How he addressed the creator in his prayers differs from prayer to prayer. Sometimes, he used Abba, sometimes as Father, during his death he said My God. I don't feel this establishes any pattern for us, just shows his personal endearment with his creator. He never addressed Mary as 'Mother', rather he addressed her as 'Woman', and we don't establish any pattern from it either.

so our prayers should go to the father, ever mindful of the immensity of his person, his might embodied in his name, but not use it. if at all sparingly.
How do you decide if you are overusing the divine name or underusing, or using it right?

Blind faith
by menrov inyou have those moments where you sit and think, how is it possible...... governments (local, regional or federal level) and political leaders in general are receiving their right to govern or lead from the people (with exception of some countries like north korea and china).
if the people are not satisfied anymore (due to corruption, lies, baseless promises etc), they will act to initiate change.
this can lead, in more extreme situations, to a revolution.
-
Drearyweather
People expect governments to do all these things and if they don't or not sufficiently, people will complain and demand change.
Yes, I expect the government to do all these things as I pay my taxes to them and not to any God.

Does the GB direct cult members to burn old books?
by mickbobcat ini was told but can not find anything concrete that the cult gb directs cult members to burn old cult books and literature.

Has the branch asked members to burn old books? No
Has the branch asked congregations to burn older items?
Each year, individual branches send letters to the congregation instructing which items to display, and which to discard. Our congregation, being a non-english congregation, asked the branch to elaborate what 'discard' means. The branch replied that discard meant to remove them from the Kingdom hall, by either giving them out to the publishers who needed them, and if no one needs them, then destroy them rather than letting them rot in the storeroom.
What about older publications from the Library?
Below are the latest instructions (as of 2020):
"Since some publishers and interested persons do not use computers or electronic devices, the elders should give careful consideration to the needs of such individuals when making decisions as to the Kingdom Hall library, especially before deciding to eliminate printed publications. If the publications will be provided in electronic form, such as on a device or on a computer, a printer should be made available. At least one responsible brother should be assigned to keep the library up-to-date and in good order.
In the event that the bodies of elders decide to eliminate printed publications from the library, care should be taken not to discard items that have historical significance. The branch office may wish to add such items to its library or to its archive of historical materials." - sfl Chap 21, Para 39-40
Not sure about other countries, but here there is no direction to destroy all older books. Most of the older congregations still have libraries with one copy of each printed publication.

Being partial
by asp59 inwhat do jws think about a regular member in congregation can be disfellowshipped, but when governing body makes something wrong, like two witnesses rules on child molestation, it's just considered 'they are not perfect' and can do wrong?
-
Drearyweather
If you feel that members of the governing body are never disfellowshipped or removed, or asked to resign from their positions, then do research on the following names:
Raymond Franz, Leo Greenlees, Ewart Chitty
There have been 31 members in the governing body up till now (living and dead) and 3 were asked to leave their positions. Almost 10%.
