Brilliant interview. Very similar to the witnesses in regards to brain washing.

Hello JW Lurkers. Did you watch Leah Remini's show? Or her interview? It's here...
by AllTimeJeff insubstitute "jehovah's witnesses" for every time leah says "scientology".
it's a cult folks.
please watch the interview below.. "you should always talk to someone who was in, because, if you don't get the nomenclature 100% correct, we have a way of kind of discrediting you if you're not using it correctly.".

A woman's Heartfelt message to the Governing Body
by UnshackleTheChains ini just watched this lovely lady's heartfelt message to the governing body.
i hope that the men she named and all lurkers who have some clout at bethel listen to this message and stop this cruel and divisive shunning policy that has ruined so many family's around the world.
this is just one voice of many many people who feel this way about your (governing body) destructive policy.

Judging by the latest hearing at the Australian Royal Commission ie no GENUINE empathy shown towards victims of child abuse AND I mean no genuine empathy shown towards victims of child abuse. Particularly when the issue of shunning was brought up! Its there for all to see on youtube.
There is a very very big difference between loyalty to 'an organisation/publishing corporation who 'claim to be the ONLY true Christian religion' on this earth AND the simple teachings of God's word,
The lady in this video speaks from the heart. Jesus did not departmentalise people. He preached to ALL the good news of the Kingdom. A wonderful hope. Scriptures that touch on avoiding sinners need to be read IN CONTEXT according to God's word, and not through a particular religious groups interpretation.
This woman's message has more power than all the jw.org broadcasts that I have watched. Please pay attention Governing Body. Listen to the heart (this honest woman's heart)..NOT the traditions of men!!!!!!

Local Elder Mentions this Site from the Platform
by James Jack ina local elder had the part this week on the "good news" brochure.
he said: "if the householder has any questions, direct them to jw.org, don't say, just look up jehovah's witnesses on the internet(an older sister said this at the door), if you do they will be directed to a site visited by apostates and weak witnesses!
" "this mistake, would cause the householder to never accept bible truth".. i thought to myself, wow, i'm sure some listening to this part, will get curious now(many in the hall are just being exposed to the internet, and practicing with their new tablets) and do, just what they were told not to do..

The young ones listening to this elder will wonder what he was referring to and will now be very curious.

This is just one voice of many many people who feel this way about YOUR (Governing Body) destructive policy. I personally thank this lady for expressing her feelings and thoughts on you tube. It takes a very brave person to speak up publicly about a clear injustice being practiced. Also my thanks goes to to everyone else who speaks up and shares their own personal experiences about the organisation.

Another family needlessly torn apart
by Visitor1984 ini'm feeling very angry tonight as i watched my mother in law end her relationship with my husband, her son, tonight.
we were happily inactive, enjoying a distant but decent relationship with my in laws until they saw some christmas decorations and everything changed.
i spent two hours getting drilled on whether my husband and i celebrate holidays, to be told that my laws won't socialize with us anymore.

What do you think the Australian Government will do?
by Richard Oliver ini am not wanting to start a fight.
i just want to hear what people think.
honestly and realistically, what do you think the australian government will do, with watchtower, when they receive the full arc report?.

Judging by Angus Stewart's tone as to why they simply don't apply the laws of the land when it comes to child abuse allegations, coupled with judge Mclellands obvious annoyance when pressing them on shunning, they will not treat this lightly.
I think they will throw the book at them pushing the Australian branch into a corner to comply.

What Do Witnesses Do For Fun These Days?
by minimus inwhen i was in , i went on many vacations, ate out at restaurants a lot and drank alcohol.
loved music and dancing too.... do jws do anything but watch watchtower videos now?
?.

Welllll.....
The younger ones (in cities) generally meet up in large groups and enjoy a good knees up with plenty of alcohol involved
AND
The older ones go on nights out with their work mates when the opportunity arises.
Why?
Because there are no organised social events for witnesses; and therefore out of sheer boredom resort to the above.
For the ultra strict ones, they tend to mix with other like-minded elite playing Scrabble over a root beer 😋

What is having the biggest impact on the watchtower Bible and tract society?
by UnshackleTheChains inhi all.. this is a reasonable question and would love to know what you think is having the biggest impact on watchtower.
there is a plethora of websites talking negatively of watchtower.
there are the never ending court cases regarding child abuse allegations.

Hi all. Really interesting view points.
Personally, I think the age of the internet is having the most impact. I recall back in 1995 (when having doubts...But couldn't put my finger on it) seeing an apostate book in a Christian book shop. I remember thinking will I buy it, but then feeling incredibly guilty for even thinking of buying it and walked straight out of the shop.
Got my first PC in 2000 and it was only when my marriage was hitting the rocks, along with my spirituality in 2002 that I slowly began looking at website forums such as this one. It felt great knowing I wasn't the only one with niggling doubts. I recall seeing on one forum a title called the watchtower society's most burned book. It was the book ' crisis of conscience' which I managed to read twice within a week.
The internet opened up a Pandora's box. Information at your fingertips. I have no doubt most JWs read or view things about the society given the huge amount of information available.
