How Do You Approach New Friendships Now?
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inmost of the website vistors and members have experience the wonderful conditional love (if not, why are you here?
), by the followers of the watchtower society.
feel the love "that no other organization or group of men and women have experienced" or was it elusive during your tour of the religion?

I can't remember the 'Most Important Date of My Life!' Can you?
by Diest ini honestly cant remember the exact date when i was baptized.
it does not bother me one bit.
i didnt have it stamped in that shitty reasoning book/babel that i got at the time, so i guess the only place i could find it would be my cards, which are far away..

Prelude to a disfellowshipping
by rory-ks ini was 25 years a congregation member; ten years an elder; all told, up to 18 years an appointed man; a decade or so as a full-time minister; assembly speaker, with the pinnacle giving the public discourse at a district convention.. .
i stopped being an active member of the congregation in november 2010, but it had been brewing for several years, with the customary gradual drifting away - all the necessary mental gymnastics as my spiritual views changed and doubts set in; quitting the theocratic ministry school; ceasing to answer; sitting quietly off to the side.
i think the straw that broke the camels back was when family worship inevitably became family worship.

How did you visualize Jehovah when you were young?
by Matsimus ini was born as a third generation (perhaps even fourth gen. but my great great grandfather never got baptized) jw.
i remember that when i was young, perhaps about five years old, i would think about jehovah as this big black ghost with yellow eyes.
to me he was quite frightening, and i was constantly catious not to piss him off.

I don't like "taking the lead"
by I Want to Believe insome men probably got off on the power/ego trip being a male jw gets you, but i never cared for it.
i'm an introvert, and was an especially awkward one at that haveing been reaised in social isolation, so it was about the strangest feeling in the world when as a newly-baptized teenager (back in the day) i started to pioneer.
i was about as green as you could get in every way but i was told i had to take the lead in the service meetings and the car group.

Is the Shun Gun pointed at someone you love?
by mercedes_29 ini just got off of the phone with my mother.
she is baptized although inactive for the past three years.
she was at the grocery store today and ran into a "brother" and a "sister" separately.

You have never heard of anyone have a bad day in field service, Right!
by life is to short ini grew up hearing that over and over.
i used to think about those bumper stickers that say i would rather be golfing or fishing.
jw's should have bumper stickers that say i would rather be going door to door.. once i got old enough to understand it, i used to beat myself up all the time because some of the most hellish days of my life have been out in service.. for so many reasons even more then i will list!.

LOVE-BOMBING TRAINING just before the Memorial
by Alfred inthe last memorial i attended was in 2010 and i havent been to the kh since june of 2010... but when i was in, it seemed like every year, usually 1 or 2 weeks before the memorial, the service meeting would have a skit on how to behave when new faces enter the kingdom hall on memorial night.. it was always extremely painful for me to watch (and sometimes humorous) because the elder in charge of that service meeting part would usually select 4 of the grumpiest elderly sisters in the congo to do the skit.
one pair of sisters would play the part of the "love-bombing" jws and the other pair would play the interested ones entering the kh for the first time.
then they would switch roles and change up the script a little.. i always thought to myself: those sisters are never going to put that into practice... theyll show up late before even thinking of love-bombing anyone.
