  The uptake...

  with recent events pointing at watchtower growth, i felt compelled to say a few words.. if the figures turn out to be true, then we should not be discouraged.

  after 9/11 there was a surge in, not only the watchtower, but other demonisation of organised religion.

  whenever there is a a paradigm shifting event that puts fear into others, this tends to have a life changing affect on an individual.. now let us zoom to the present.

  If the figures turn out to be true, then we should not be discouraged. after 9/11 there was a surge in, not only the watchtower, but other demonisation of organised religion. whenever there is a a paradigm shifting event that puts fear into others, this tends to have a life changing affect on an individual.

  Now let us zoom to the present. Over the last year, we have seen events that have shook the very foundations of many people. People are genuinely scared of what the future holds. Whether it is Brexit, or Trump winning the election race, these two events have deeply divided others. The divisions run so deep that there have been members of the same family fall out. We have seen it here too. Some think Trump will start WW3, think how terrifying this would be to those who think this way. There is demonstrations and riots currently taking place.

  For many people, the future is bleak and terrifying. When individuals feel this way, they go into survival mode. This is where organised religion plays it's part. The Watchtower have always exploited events to suite there own egenda. In desperation individuals fall for this. The watchtower preys on others who are feeling utterly hopeless.

  Vulnerability is a target for vultures like the watchtower!

  The growth will have absolutely nothing to do with individuals believing they have found "the truth," it has more to do with the hope for a utopian future, something we all crave. I mean, who wouldn't want to live in a world free from crime, corruption, pollution, Ill health and many more. The very reason shows like Star Trek are so popular is because of a vision of a more hopeful future.

  As human beings, we need hope, otherwise without the sense of hope, we feel our lives are worthless.

  In the current world cycle, there is a huge amount of uncertainty, however, this is only a cycle, eventually things will get better. When things do get better, you can bet your bottom dollar that organized religion will be hemorraging members once again. It's all a cycle.

  So never get discouraged, don't give the watchtower vultures what they want. They prey on negative energy. don't give them the satisfaction.

  i have been for the last couple weeks been studying religion.

  i've learned the only ones who today do what the bible says to is jw.

  Interperatation of Revelation 13 due for an update?

  regarding the watchtower interpretation of revelation 13 https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/g201105/seventh-world-power-bible-history/ - identifying the usa and britain as part of the legs of iron from daniels vision... i think they're gonna have to update this one in the next decade.. trump seems to be the last person who'd work closely with a female prime minister for one, secondly, us brits aint so powerful as we once was.

  trump appears to be pretty ok with dealing with russia and for all we know could become an ally with them.. your thoughts?.

  now that i read the watchtower interpretation of revelation without my jw spectacles on, it's laughable that they come to these conclusions..

  Britain and the US are the last superpower...Although there is room for a overlapping superpower in the shape of Russia and China! the Watchtower have managed to get away with the overlapping generation, so I'm sure with the ever rising power of Russia and China, and the inevitable fall of THE US and the UK as a superpower we will see something pulled out of the hat.

  The worst thing about all this is, those who are indoctrinated will lap it up, and still think the end is near.

  Anyone with an ounce of common sense will see CULT shouting out to then loud and clear. The illustration is extremely cult like.

  On the subject of the memorial. It is a black mass ritual, those who fall for the invitation are only headed for trouble. Either that, or they will be seriously creeped out by the whole thing. The latter would be of benefit.

  @Fisherman. Did I say I knew this? and on the subject of Jesus saying he saw Satan falling from the heavens, could you point us to this scripture? Could you also point us to the scripture that points to this happening in the early 20th century? I'm sure if Jesus saw a vision of Satan falling from the heavens, then being the honest loving caring person he was, he would have actually pointed to a time frame, and not be vague... Surely this would be a loving thoughtful thing to do, instead of leaving others hanging. Which is the opposite of love, and just plain cruel!

  @Fisherman. You have just made a huge contradiction here. You need to re-read your submission, in one breath you are saying you believe, then in another you doubt whether this is true?

  So in every single publication just about every first century "Christian" had beards, this includes Jesus. The watchtower proclaims to be a footstep follower of Jesus. So if anyone is "stumbled" by a brother wearing a beard, there is one simple explanation. I wear a beard because I am a footstep follower of Jesus, and point out the many publications that illustrates not only Jesus, but also his apostles wearing beards.

  There is no argument to be had here, the watchtower cannot simply forbid beards if they do not follow by example. Besides, the only reason they try to forbid beard wearing is because they want their salespeople to look clean cut on the outside. Fortunately most people realise these days that this is a false presentation to try and recruit more slaves to the watchtower.

  "It's a cult, mom."

  my mom has been extensively texting me, trying to argue that the un ngo scandal is not a big deal and that the child abuse scandal is to instigate the great tribulation.

  even worse, she kept saying how great it is that the gb is imperfect and fallible and that teaching changes all the time.

  maybe it was aggravation or impatience, but i finally just snapped and told her, "it's a cult, mom.".

  I have a similar situation with my mum. However, to preserve the relationship with her, I need to let her have her belief. We know it is a high control cult, however, some people are heavily invested in this cult.

  Although it is a loving and caring thing to try and warn a loved one that this cult is dangerous, this person needs to have doubts, you cannot simply "implant" these doubts into an individual, the mind control and years of indoctrination is far to strong.

  Sadly, I don't think my mother will ever wake up, so me trying to wake her up will NEVER happen. Sometimes we have to learn acceptance and focus on the cult itself. What I mean by focusing on the cult is knowing that this is not the cult victim's fault, it is the cult that slowly manipulated the victim into total servitude.

  Fisherman. Where is the eyewitness evidence that Satan was cast down to earth? I'm not talking about 1914 and the outbreak of WW1, I'm talking about a clear phenomenon celestial in nature. Surely if Satan was cast down, there would be some sort of phenomenon that most on earth would have witnessed. After all, we are talking about very powerful beings here aren't we?

  No one saw Satan being cast down, neither did anyone see Jesus invisible (old light) return, therefore, did this really happen, or was it made up? why did other religious dominations not see any of this happening, even to give them a warning?
