  the watchtower published anthony morris iii's autobiography last year ... "remembering my first love has helped me to endure" by anthony morris iii.

  i absolutely cannot believe how quickly he became a jehovah's witness.

  in the span of less than a year, he attended his first meeting, studied, got baptized, became a pioneer, and married a jw girl.

  Josey wasn't the best pupil at Sunday school. She often fell asleep and one day while she was sleeping, the teacher asked her a question. "Who is the creator of the universe?" Joe was sitting next to Josey and decided to poke her with a pin to wake her up. Josey jumped and yelled, "God almighty!" The teacher congratulated her. A little later the teacher asked her another question, "Tell me who is our lord and savior?" Joe poked Josey again and she yelled out, "Jesus Christ!" The teacher congratulated her again. Later on the teacher asked, "What did Eve say to Adam after their 26th child?"   Pale emperor. The first picture looks like the girl on the right is taking a selfie haha. Obviously when this picture was created there was no such thing as the selfie, nor was there a sniff of a mobile phone. But hey ho. Still looks like there is a Tony Blair - esk selfie going on here

  nothing like the old hall it's built next to.. the small room in the video is the indoctrination education center.. the building is completed one year ahead of schedule.

  my guess: it's either much simpler than they originally planned, and/or they had more volunteers because nothing else is being built.. video is dutch, but nothing interesting is said anyway..

  i am of the opinion that the wt doctrine is influenced more by external factors that it is by internal ones.

  one of the doctrines that has puzzled me for some time is the armageddon prediction of 1975. why would the wts make this prediction?

  what was their real purpose?.

  Any thought on this being purely "divine inspiration" needs to be knocked out the park. My spidy senses go with OrphanCrow here.

  For those who toured the many branches around the world, there was one thing we were told on the tour. The Watchtower are in the know 3 years before it is printed, or something to that affect. We are talking about a multi billion dollar organisation here, this, in my opinion will give the watchtower the power to be in the know way before it is within the KH. Unfortunately, we thought this was a divine inspiration, when in fact money talks!

  We can see history about to repeat itself, why? Because of the threat that the UK branch may lose it its tax exempt status, and the many lawsuits that are currently baring down on the org. Hence this year's assembly programme on the great trib and shunning. The org knows that there is trouble on the way, so needs to shore up and have those "voluntary contributions" rolling in.

  In the words of the great late Goerge Carlin:

  “Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

  But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!”

  i'm cringing because the video is very empty in the way of presenting any credible evidence or logical reasoning for rejecting evolution in preference for creationism.

  but it's not the only reason.the video wreaks of propagandistic manipulation.

  first, angel gives very stereotypic reasons for why he accepted evolution in the past.

  This video is right out of the book on effective propaganda.

  Get an "expert" to talk about a subject that is relevant to a certain organisation, and have them dress up in the corresponding garb. And you have the masses eating out of your hands.

  hi all, just wondering if there's anything going around about the elders receiving instruction from the society to give inactive ones and disfellowshipped ones one last chance to come back?

  i ask because i have a still in family member that i received a message from, and urging me to go back.

  the elders are apparently saying there is no time left.

  in paragraph 2 of this study, the gbojw evidences once again that they are sticking to the absurd 1914 doctrine – “when the last days of the present system began...”.

  i noted that as 2014 approached, the gbojw became somewhat reticent about making reference to revelation 12:12 – the “short period of time” scripture.

  so this study is the first one in a long time in which both the 1914 doctrine and revelation 12:12 are mentioned in the same study.

  And we wonder why this cult produces and attracts abusive personalities.

  Unfortunately I fell victim to such abusive characters. One being and elder, and also my landlord. The other being a pioneer "in good standing."

  I still remember to this day a comment that the pioneer made on conduct.

  "I like where the article mentions that just as long as we are working hard for Jehovah, he will forgive us for other things."

  Translated. I can be as much as a bitch as I please because I am a pioneer, and the elders will always take my side over anyone who just happens to be a lowly publisher.

  Or as one elder said to me when I finally got the courage to stand up to her abuse. You do know if there isn't TWO WITNESSES then there is nothing we can do! Needless to say, there was nothing done about it.

  And don't get me started on my previous landlord elder!
