A Pivotal Date: March 20
by ezekiel3 ini am just giggling myself inside out with the stupid antics regarding the march 20 release of the new org book.. of course, in great irony, only the apostates seem to know what's going on.. meanwhile in the congregations, a excitment tinged with mystery and suspense is tweaking the r&f.
my entire book study was just about begging the conductor for any hint.. to emphasize the surprise, congregations that meet on saturday (march 19) are actually moving their public/wt meetings to sunday just for the event.
just imagine the drool letdown when they find out the truth, that old br.

Jesus die about 30 CE
by peacefulpete inthere is a geat amount of confusion among early christian trdaition as to when jesus died, some have said about 130 different opinions were held.
the nt doesn't help pin it down as the dating in luke doesn't work.
anyway the tradition that eventually won out was that jesus was baptised about 29/30 and killed 1-3 years later.. on another site someone speculated that it was jewish tradition that indirectly helped establish this timeline.

Who is really superior?
by mjl inhere?s question, we had a talk a few weeks about the "gifts in men," namely the elders.
they kept on saying how much more superior the congregation is over the elders, the elders in essence work for us and are our servants or slaves.
nice thought and all but if that?s the case why is there so much secrecy?

Bible Kids Born before the Parents!
by gumby inbible kids born before their parents?.
in normal life, we generally see the parents come before the kids.the parents usually play nasty...then have kids.. not so with the amalakites in the bible.. notice below, the the amalekites are actually in existence before their daddy.. .
gen. 14:7 and they returned, and came to enmishpat, which is kadesh, and smote all the country of the amalekites, and also the amorites, that dwelt in hazezontamar.. so here we have the amalekites, yet the following scripture shows amalek (their father), was born many later as the grandson of esau.

life of a 4th century nun
by peacefulpete inever wonder what is was like to be a 4th century christian initiated into the real mysteries of christianity?
here is a work by a devout nun who chronicled her experience.
notice the secret nature of the liturgy (section 47 xlvii) and the bizaar anastasis (cave) ritual where in the "mysteries" are revealed.
