How do you think the Memorial should be celebrated? How are you going to spend it?
by MsGrowingGirl20 infor the first time, i realize that many people have different views about this.. some people believe that all should partake, others don't believe that there should be a memorial.. some are going to the hall, others are having their own celebrations still others are just going to be doing normal activities.. how do you think the memorial should be celebrated?

A visit with 113 year old Sister Richardson at the Kingdom Hall
by Terry ina cautionary tale.
(it is evening at the kingdom hall and a mom and her daughter arrive before the meeting is about to start.).
"hello sister richardson.".

If sister Richardson's children had stayed JWs they would have received the book 'Children' in 1941 and as a result would never have married and poor sister Richardson would never have had grandchildren. Although she never gets to see the ones she's got anyway....

Mt Sinai in Saudi Arabia ?
by Infowarrior inmost people think mt sinai is in the sinai penisula in egypt, but some suggest their is significant evidance of mt sinai being in saudi arabia.. .
evidence points to the beaches of nuwayba in egypt by the gulf of aqaba (red sea) being the point of the red sea crossing.. .
it is thought king solomon put a pillar marking this on each side of the crossing.. (nuweiba egypt).

Pterism and partaking....

it was so nice to speak to someone without fear.
i really just started unloading my burdens upon this man, and he was just awesome.

Talking to others that know nothing about JWs is eye opening. When you start to tell them things that you are troubled by they are actually horrified!
Total preterism doesn't make sense to me but I can see a point of view for partial preterism. Anyway, I only started partaking last year I don't want to stop yet! LOL
Don't I know you guys DD, Londo and CA?? ;)

I thought it was very good. However there was a lot missed out, like Isaac/Jacob/Joseph but then I guess they have to fit 1,000s of years into a few hours. Also things have to be added for entertainment value. I found it hard to accept Samson and his family as being black because the Israelites were all jews. I know a vast mixed crowd came out of Egypt with the Israelites but would Samson have come from one of those? I doubt it.
On the whole it's good. I'm looking forward to the ones about Jesus.

Dear watchtower bible and tract society, governing body, and all of your twisted teachings...
by OneDayillBeFree inafter today's watchtower study which was basically a mind controlling article about shunning your loved disfellowshipped ones, i've come to see just how sick, twisted, vile, rotten, repulsive, disgusting, and just plain evil you all are.
so i stormed out.
i don't know if i'll ever come back to your meetings again.

On the other hand, if you choose the path of resentment toward Jehovah, the organisation, you will distance yourself from him it. Really, what your beloved family member needs to see is your resolute stance to put Jehovah the organisation above everything else-including the family bond. So to cope with the situation, be sure to maintain your own spirituality obey the organisation. Do not isolate yourself from your faithful Christian brothers and sisters. ( Prov. 18:1 ) Pour out your feelings to Jehovah in prayer. ( Ps. 62:7, 8 ) Do not look for excuses to associate with a disfellowshipped family member, for example, through e-mail. ( 1 Cor. 5:11 ) Stay absorbed in spiritual corporation activities. ( 1 Cor. 15:58 ) The sister quoted above says, "I know that I must stay busy in Jehovah's the organisation's service and keep myself in a spiritually strong subservient condition so that when my daughter does come back to Jehovah ,to be controlled by the organisation, I will be in a position to help her."

I Didn't See That Coming
by Wholly ini was raised on air force bases in the us and asia until i was 10 or 11. my mother divorced my father while he was on an unaccompanied tour in turkey and hooked up with my uncle.
she married him and his children became our step-brothers and sisters.
i saw my father once when he got back to the states and not again until almost 30 years later.. after two years, my uncle put his children in an orphanage and my mother dispersed her children to the four winds so she could be free to be with my uncle without all the problems eight children who hated each other brought.. my story begins in 1977 in an old farm house in corinth, kentucky, without running water or heat, just electricity for lights and cooking.

Wholly, I really hope you can find a way to keep yourself out. You've found an incredible strength inside yourself to keep going. I hope you find a way to stay strong. Loving God doesn't mean we have to love a religious man made organisation.

Welcome D-R, as others have said the best way is the slow way. It's over a year on for me and I'm still finding difficult. The first instinct is to tell everything and I'm afraid I did. I've had to pull back and just drop things every now and again. Test out what works, what presses the right buttons and leave out the things that get you nowhere. I'm doing a very slow fade. Getting the balance right between people noticing and not noticing is difficult. There's a number of ups and downs along the way, sometimes things get really tough but hang in there. We're all here to help and support each other. Have a vent sometimes when things get too much. Take care and I hope you find the way that works for you!
