"So, how many tracts did you place last month during the campaign???"
by stuckinarut2 inas we all know, the org now wants everyone to count the number of flimsy, one page tracts on every monthly report from now on.... so, what is the general buzz around the traps about how many the average witness is reported to have placed?.
(yes, it is a seriously stupid thing designed to keep the flock busy and also designed to measure their 'spirituality').
i need to fudge my report, and i havent got the foggiest clue what sort of numbers each witness has on average 'placed'......

The Illusion of Superiority
by Coded Logic inafter reading dozens and dozens of posts and hundreds of comments, it seems to me that a great many people on this forum think that since they figured out ttatt, they must therefore be a highly intelligent and incredibly rational individual.
let me take a moment to congratulate everyone.
its a big step to figure this out - i know.. that said, it doesn't make you a genius!

All I can say is that I've reached my middle years without even realising I'd been completely deluded. Yes, I always thought I was reasonably intelligent (as much as the next person) but to realise you've allowed yourself to be totally deluded doesn't make you feel too good about yourself. Do I feel superior? Not at all! I also think most others on here feel that way too.
Maybe it would be interesting finding out what logic is but there's too many other interesting things to find out about to be bothered. Sorry!

ISIS make the JW religion look positively benign.. even though they use the 'indoctrinate kids while they're young' in the same way. At least the JWs don't kill anyone (at least not physically).
It's really quite frightening what ISIS are doing! Can you imagine in 10 years time these fully indoctrinated children will be doing the same as their mentors. Ruthlessly killing anyone who doesn't go along with them. If you do go along with them you have to do the killing too. It'll be a never ending vicious cycle.

A question for Athiests.
by new hope and happiness ini am now an athiest myself, but i think being an athiest its a bit like having a faith.
some get very hooked on it and "preash" others (like me) simply get with with there lifes.
i am sure that some athiests like to have discussions about the non existence of " god" in a similar way that "thisists" do about the existence of god.

Well... I'm a 'theist' but I believe strongly in live and let live. It's very freeing... No preaching from me. If someone believes in God, then great. If someone doesn't believe in God, fine. Endless debates get you nowhere and people have different needs. As long as there's respect on both sides I don't see why everyone can't get along without trying to convert someone else. I prefer to read about how others are coping with life, inside or outside of WT land than get into endless debates that go nowhere, life's too short. It's people that matter not an endless list of who's right and who's wrong. I say just enjoy life, don't let anyone tell you how to think, feel, act or live. Be happy!

LOL!! You're such a rebel DD.. love it! hehe
Me too... I made a goal of not going to a single mid week meeting. Not to a give out a single tract. Not to go out at all during CO week (his last visit) and to miss most of the RC. It's all little steps for me but dropping off these activities one at a time makes it so much easier to just drift off without anyone really noticing. Difficult to do with my hubby being an elder but it is doable!
Also I went to see my D/Fed BIL who was playing a gig 100 miles away. Son and DIL went with me too. BIL was thrilled to bits!

Lenna, t's so good that you found out all of this before you got baptised. You still have a way out and they won't be able to D/F you and cut you off from people you love. I hope you can rebuild your relationships that you had before. Keep up with asking questions, even if you don't find all the answers. It's good to keep looking and keep searching. You will eventually find a place inside yourself that you feel happy with. Just don't let others manipulate you and tell you what all the answers are. It's something you need to find for yourself and not because someone else told you.

All I can say is that my heart goes out to those parents and I truly hope they find the right treatment for their little boy and that there can be true cooperation between them and the medical people. They just seem like a loving, caring family trying to do the best for their child. Doctors don't always know what's best, even if they think they do.
I've had my own issues with the medical profession, did my own research. Found an alternative treatment fortunately still on the NHS. They tried to talk me out of it but I went ahead and went to another county for the treatment. It was highly successful and meant I didn't end up having needless surgery.
If this family want to fund private treatment in another country for their son then why shouldn't they be allowed to do so?

This is a loving family that just want what's best for their little one. Doctors think they are gods! Why couldn't they have accomodated what the parents wanted, which was the best possible medical treatment there was. Is it because that treatment was in another country? This child is nothing to those doctors but he's everything to his parents! Now the parents are being hounded like criminals!
