JWs have a fascination with the word Jehovah that is at minimum bizarre, to the point that if you pray and just use God instead, they would find that suspicious.

The myth, lie that Christendom has hid Gods name, all of these Centuries.
by smiddy3 init has been well documented that jehovah`s witnesses have long claimed that christendom has hidden the name of god for centuries.. and that they alone have restored that name in the last century,.
making it known in all of the earth for a witness.. nothing could be further from the truth .. 1.justus martinus a 13th century spanish monk took the four hebrew letters of the tetragrammaton for gods name and added vowels to those consonants and came up with hebrew letters to english jhvh and the vowels he added e o a. which amounted to jehovah ,remember this was in the thirteenth century by a spanish catholic monk.. 2.this name persisted throughout the centuries to this day ,in many so of christendoms writings etc,etc.. 3.churches of christendoms religions throughout the world have the name jehovah in stone on them engraved since that 13th century .
4.in the 1970`s if i remember correctly their was an international convention held around the world in which the jw`s released a publication of the conventions and the churches of christendom to the delegates showing these churches many of which had the name jehovah engraved in stone on them.......centuries old churches.

Trump Derangement Syndrome Is Alive and Well
by minimus ini was on facebook and a person i have known for a long time posted how trump is mentally ill and is truly a psychopath.
a couple of her friends chimed in when i suggested that perhaps the fb friend was really the psychopath.
a couple of her friends began to defend her but i was surprised by how many people defended the president!

But constantly flipping out over anything he says or does is cuckoo
"Flipping out" is perhaps hyperbole. I think most reasonable people look in awe at the avalanche of stupidity that dribbles out of his mouth.
For example, just 2 or 3 days ago in addressing Hurricane Dorian he said that he "doesn't know what a category 5 hurricane is" and that he "never even heard of that term before". Why?
Of course there are videos of him discussing the impact of other cat 5 hurricanes in the past, and addressing them as such, and of course this but one small example of a daily ritual of playing hide-and-seek with the truth.
Now you ask... what is the point about lying and misleading about something so inconsequential like that? The man has a pathology that is hard to understand, but at the very minimum it shows that he cannot be trusted even with saying the truth about the most mundane and trivial things.

If Trump does not have a mental and moral problem he is at the best a con man by choice.
There are plenty of people in the world that don't have a mental issue, and that are simply buffoons, superficial and callous.
The issue is that normally, the process of coming up the ranks of politics weeds out these people. Trump is an anomaly because he entered the scene through the entertainment space, and gained traction because whether we like it or not, there are copious amounts of people in the US, who are just as moronic as he is.
He is for all intents and purposes, the Buffoon King, admired by ... well the rest of the buffoons.
As bad as that is, the Left continues to do everything they can to get the Buffon King elected again, by adopting ridiculous extreme left platforms such as open borders, reparations, free healthcare and education for illegals and many others. This will be a sure way to make the moderate sector of the electorate sit on their couch once again at election day.

Big Meat Eaters?
by peacefulpete ini was wondering how many of us have switched to a vegetarian or vegan diet and why.
i'm not doing it but have friends who do.
lovely people and seem very healthy.

I admire folks who are vegan, especially those with ethical concerns, but I have not made that switch.
I do eat less meat, and lately I'm planning to pay a little more $ to source meat from organic sources. I eat more fish now, and well sourced chicken. I think the the field of non-animal meats seems promising.
I cut out almost all bread, and almost all pasta, barring the rare indulgence. Cut down on sugar, but still eat a good amount of chocolate. Never drank soda. It's water, wine and beer for me. No white rice -- only brown
I think the next step for me would be to cut down on red meat even more, and do the same for potatoes. I could cut down on cookies and chocolates a bit more too.
I'm pretty sure that a few hundred years from now, we are going to look back and be horrified that we actually killed animals to eat them.

You can almost certainly guarantee that the Org will have donation boxes all over the exhibits with reminders that this is all .."possible because of your donations..." yadda yadda.
Keep in mind that Bethel has a good amount of steady visitors, and they want to have something to show.
Sadly even my family is profiting from this. They opened a hotel close to Bethel that relies on about 80% of Bethel visitors to stay in business.

WTC has become adept at using tragedy as a means of raising cash.
by AndersonsInfo inwtc has become adept at using tragedy as a means of raising cash.
for example, when puerto rico was devastated by a hurricane, wtc directed a large number of congregations to donate $1500 each in supplies that would be used for relief purposes.
it is not known how many congregations took part in this effort but the feedback suggests it was in the hundreds.

However, the majority of those provisions were never used. What happened to the many pallets of supplies that were purchased and shipped to central locations waiting to be shipped to the poor JW’s in Puerto Rico? Eventually it was liquidated and the proceeds were absorbed by WTC.
I'll play the devil's advocate here, but how do you know this is what happened?
In any case, i'm sure all the prayers from JWs around the world will include requests for Jellohoba to "help the brothers and sisters in the Bahamas". And of course screw everybody else

Cause of Mass Shootings Mental Health?
by blondie ini have been sad to see so many groups and individuals say that the cause of these events are the mental status of the shooters.
i have looked over the backgrounds of these shooters, and few had medically identified mental health issues.
it is too easy to think that people shoot or kill other people because they are mentally ill.. actually, many or most people with real mental illnesses are most likely to be the victims of others.. i have been a volunteer with the organization called nami (national alliance of mental lillness) for 25 years now.

The answer to the riddle is not binary. This is not a decision between mental illness or guns. The answer is obviously both.
Let's assume that there is a small percentage of people in the country who are crazy enough to want to kill dozens of people. The question then becomes how easy should it be for them to have access to a gun.
If you have a mentally unstable person living with you, and you leave a gun on the kitchen table and go to work, only to come home and realize this person went out and killed 25 people, you can't just shrug your shoulders and say ... " well it's not the gun's fault, it's the mental disease". Of course it's the mental disease, but you made it incredible easy for this to happen and that's part of question.

No, it's all a hoax.
The science community is conspiring against humanity. Also scientists who study these things all their lives, know much less than you and me about Global warming.
Bring back "clean coal" jobs, since evidently that is the future. Also there is no evidence that carbon increases the temperature of the planet. It's a Chinese hoax, and the Chinese are paying off all scientists in the world about this.
Also Trump never lies, and Putin is a great leader.
Happy now?

The "Hate Crime" mob stirring things up again!
by The Fall Guy instaff in a takeaway were offended by two lesbians' full-on kissing and expressed their opinion about the behaviour.
the lesbians complained to police that a "hate crime" was committed.. homosexual or heterosexual - do it in private, it's not a spectator sport or a public statement.. minority groups can invoke police action if they are "offended," but society in general cannot do likewise.. why has "being offended" been turned into a hate crime in the uk?
who is pushing this agenda?.

Minority groups can invoke police action if they are "offended," but society in general cannot do likewise.
Anybody can invoke police action. It's up to the police to determine if action is warranted.

Evolution or Creation Poll
by Vanderhoven7 inevolution is how we got here.. demonstrate that you believe that all species evolved from a single cell over/within 3.5 billion years by tapping "like" below.. demonstrate that you believe in special creation by tapping "unlike" below..

roughly a third of Americans reject microbe to man evolution as well.
No doubt. This is one of the reasons we know that a good chunk of Americans are morons.
Once you establish that the United States is probably the most religious of all the developed countries, it then follows that a good portion of the population is bound to believe in the fairy tales that religion teaches.
