  busted by a gypsy__________________how do i know they are gypsy?i had some run-ins in l.a. many years back.

  had they worn a banner it wouldn't have been more obvious.the patriarch wore a special hat with a silver spangled band.i've seen the old gypsy with his cane and his scowl.

  he walks like a king or a panther at prowl.

  You were sitting at a table designated for disabled people.....And....You knew it..
  

  In my heart, I knew I had indeed sat at a handicap only table without even a moment's hesitation.And yet--it wasn't going to be THIS goober who would get me to move.

  He was obviously disabled..

  Each word corresponded with a cane tap on the symbol imprinted on my table's edge.

  Assh*le or not..

  You took a disabled persons table, then you faced him down for it..

  If you wanted to maintain a facade of respectability..
  

  This is a story you should have taken to your grave, without ever mentioning it..

  how many times did you hear that gem?

  it often went along with "the truth is a protection" which is their way of saying "living a moral life is good for you ... and you can't do that without us".. but think about what people are really saying.

  i think the real message is "i know it's not the truth, but i chose to follow it anyway".. it seems like a pre-emptive argument because they know they can't defend it as "the truth" so instead they switch to defending it as a lifestyle.. of course any kind of lifestyle that has a decent moral ingredient to it, respect for law and order, discipline etc... probably increases people's chances of doing better in life, but they don't have a monopoly on it.. so just remember, next time you hear someone saying "even if it's not the truth" what they are really admitting is that they already know it isn't..

  Like you, I was raised in the WBT$/JW Cult......It`s a very common saying.

  Most JW`s don`t care if it`s the truth or not..

  i was told by my husband that i had to go with him and the rest of his family to the special talk that was happening this weekend.

  1 Timothy 2 says to "Pray for Kings and those in high postitons". Why don't JWs do that?

  surely the jaydubs have read these scriptures.. it seems pretty plain even in their own bible.. 2 first of all, then, i urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made concerning all sorts of men, 2 concerning kings and all those who are in high positions, so that we may go on leading a calm and quiet life with complete godly devotion and seriousness.+ 3 this is fine and acceptable in the sight of our savior, god,+ 4 whose will is that all sorts of people should be saved+ and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

  5 for there is one god,+ and one mediator+ between god and men,+ a man, christ jesus,+ 6 who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all —this is what is to be witnessed to in its own due time.. .

  i looked up the word "intercession" and it is defined as.... intercession or intercessory prayer is the act of praying to a deity on behalf of others.. i looked for reference to this passage in the jw library and the article i found put the emphasis on "living a quiet calm life with seriousness and godly devotion".

  He already knows, it will be nothing he hasn`t heard before..

  Most likely he`s parroted the same WBT$/JW Crap to you, over and over and over..
  

  I think he wants me to be there for show. That he's "witnessing" to me.

  There is nothing special, about any of the special meetings/talks, ect ect..

  None of it will be anything, JW`s haven`t heard a thousand times before..

  It will be a few wasted hours of your life, you`ll never get back..

  If we are further away from perfection, why are we more moral?

  as we know, witnesses teach that adam and eve were perfect and then committed the first act of sin and rebellion.. they in turn were cursed,and we all declined as their offspring.

  humans supposedly lived shorter and shorter lives, and became more imperfect and sinful.. the further away in time humans go then, they should be getting worse.

  so why is it then that as a society, humans have actually improved in so many ways?.
