Last year, there seems to be a slight decline or stagnation if I remember correctly.

Of course, this year, I suspect that the Russia ban and other world events might reverse that somewhat.

Due to the increase we have witnessed over the past few years, a number of circuits have grown.

It is a fascinately constructed sense that could be interpreted in many ways.

First--what has increased? Is it the people? Or the work (translating, construction,ect...)?

Second, where is the increased? It didn't specify the UK.

A number of circuits have grown...how many? What defines 'a number'?

Also, many of our foreign-language congregations are now part of European-wide circuits enjoying circuit visits in their own language. To ensure that circuits in Britain and Ireland are a similar size...

So finally, the circuits in the UK are mentioned. And the reason given is not increase, but to create similar size circuits to that of foreign-language circuits. Of course, although this is one reason that may be valid, there are other reasons this change is really being made.

It is a masterclass of obfuscation.

I think Pence is a young earth creationist as well and thus anti-science.

Do you or did you experience too much intrusion into your personal life by the elders in your congregation?

i ask this question because i have personally experienced first hand the control and intrusion into my personal life by the elders at our hall; and for virtually trivial things or non issues!

what's more, i regularly hear of individuals moving to other halls because they were stumbled by the thought police....er, i mean these elders.. have you had any such experience?

have your elders been a bit ott over trivialities?.

Most definitely.

I've had elders pull friends in the backroom and questioned about what they know. And then the elders told the friend to NOT tell me they were questioned.

hi all.. it's being a while that i don't share in the forum.

after moving to another country and finding a job, i asked my congregation in my country to send my publishing card here.

once i did it, i stopped attending meetings.

i know of some congregations and even circuits that have already met this fate recently.

are there any more to come for certain?.

That was (of course) about 25% back then - I strongly suspect the ratio is much higher now.

According to the Pew Poll, it looks like it is now nearly a third.

here is the story..... this person i know was the model jw, and them and their spouse could have really moved up.

they knew i was gone and awhile ago started asking me questions.

When I was a JW, I was always filled with anticipation at hearing a Governing Body member give a talk. And each and every time this happened, I was either underwhelmed or felt outright discouraged.

I've seen Henschel at a district assembly. I've seen Herd (as a district overseer and after his appointment to the Governing Body, at a circuit assembly). I've seen Splane at a circuit assembly. And lastly Pierce about three years before his death (he gave the Memorial talk).

Nowadays, the Governing Body are front and center, whereas before, it was a rare and "privileged" thing. They could maintain their mystery and awe over their anointed status. Also, before, they were not the entire "Faithful Slave", but rather the thousands of "anointed" were mystically connected into this "class".
