Knorr took the cult to new lows that even Rutherford never did, introducing institutional shunning for one.

My Younger Brother Has Left The Witnesses!! :-D
by pale.emperor inabsolutely thrilled to give you the news that my younger brother, a zealous full-time pioneer has left the witnesses!!.
i haven't seen or spoke to him in a year.
i'd lost all contact with him, no facebook, no mobile number, i didn't even know his address because he'd moved house.

That's awesome! Congrats.
If he hasn't already, your brother needs to start learning TTATT. Otherwise, there is a danger he might go back if he doesn't intellectually understand just how far this organization is from "the truth".

In the US, the status of religion gives courts and governments the warm fuzzies and they can get away with pretty much anything.

What Happens If the JW Beard Policy Stumbles a Person
by Cold Steel insome of the videos on youtube really make the beard policy look ridiculous.
i wondered what would happen if the jw beard policy caused someone to stumble?
jesus most likely wore a beard, and charles taze russell had a beard.

BTW...in regard the OP, I would say Russell was the JW Hubbard and Rutherford the JW David Miscavige.

Jehovah's Witnesses act like 'Flirts' with people!
by stuckinarut2 inwe were just musing that jws act in a "flirtatious" manner with people in the community.. they show such "sincere" interest in people when they call.
they seem like such kind, caring and thoughtful people - really interested in their lives and welfare.. people are often quite impressed with the jws manner, and their well dressed presentation.
people (especially vulnerable ones who are going through difficult pressures in life), are drawn in and made to feel special by the witnesses as they call back.. return visits take place.

Well the thing is, if you failed to "make progress", the boat outings would come to an end.

What "Rules" Did The Elders In Your KH Make?
by minimus insome congregations were known as liberal and others were considered very conservative.
back in the 1970s a nearby congregation made all speakers who gave public talks a white shirt to wear.
if a speaker came in wearing anything but white they were brought into the library and were given a white shirt!

I'll have to think.
BTW...I've never known a liberal JW congregation. At least in central Virginia.

How did you reconcile that with judging people doing the same things as you?

i know about the gold apple watch, but that is only a small percentage of the billions that they have.

They are the ones who covered up JFK's suicide. They altered all films, editing out the gun JFK used to kill himself.
He was depressed because the lizard aliens who own the moon were making him fake the moon landing.

The denial of 1975 when and how did they go about it.
by Crazyguy ini was pretty young in 1975, all i remember was a few complaining at the hall after and those at the door that razed us over it.
does anyone remember how they went about denying it and when this started.
i do remember a scripture in psalms about people being mighty and living longer so this was used.

I believe sometime in the 80's, the seven 7000-year long "creative days" was pocket vetoed.
At that time, I remember 9th grade Earth science made all sorts of light bulbs go off in my head. My father and other older JWs still held onto the idea that the creative days started some 48000 years ago, but I had a hard time believing the continents were that young. We had some heated discussions.
Too bad I didn't wake up back then. I wish I had the Internet like kids today.
