Do the Governing body really have the power some think they do?
by sherrie11 ini mentioned this in a previous post, i feel the current gb truly believe they are chosen by god and are indoctrinated just as much as the rank and file.
they are deluded in their belief that they are guardians of the doctrine.
they are suffering from cognitive dissonance just as much.

If Don Adams is now the chief, does that make the Governing Body Larrabee? -

What is your relationship with ALCOHOL?
by nicolaou inhere in the uk new drinking guidelines have been issued which suggest "no more than 14 units a week - equivalent to six pints of beer or seven glasses of wine.".
another piece of the advice which is getting a lot of attention is that "if people drink, it should be moderately over three or more days and that some days should be alcohol-free.".
already people are making cries of "nanny state!

I don’t drink.
I have had some alcoholic drinks on a rare occasion, but not enough to alter my mental state. I’ve never been intoxicated.
My father was/is alcoholic and he could get rather monstrous sometimes. I never wanted to be like that.

I seem to remember the Proclaimers book was covered in the Theocratic Ministry School. I remember being taken aback by the talk of Pyramids and 1874. But eventually that knowledge faded. I wish I had taken that sick feeling in my stomach up and began to do real research back then. -

I thought that the legal status was precisely why many men could not be appointed. But then, that was about a decade ago I heard that. Perhaps they are more willing to bend on that issue now. -

From what I understand, they are strapped for "qualified" men to appoint in Spanish, and in the US, it's where the growth is. They might not be so picky. -

If things could be reduced to an equation: Watchtower > Jonestown
In comparison, Jonestown was a picnic, but unfortunately Watchtower is not in the public awareness despite all its efforts to advertize, advertize, advertize.
