Legal Representatives of the Society in Peru defend the blood ban in a TV program
by opusdei1972 inthis is an old video in spanish, and excuse me for not being so literal in my translation.
in this video, the peruvian interviewer of a tv program in peru invited two representatives of the jehovah's witnesses in peru (one of them is a witness lawyer, victor, and the other one, freddy farfan, who leads the hospital liaison committee in peru.
) on account of a case in which a baby of two months old has 3.3 of hemoglobin ( a very low level), so the medical doctor strongly suggested a blood transfusion for the baby, but his witness parents do not let it.

New BBC article on JW abuse
by snare&racket inis religion doing enough to root out abuse?.
he would go upstairs, on the premise that he was saying a prayer with his niece, then sexually abuse her.
mark sewell was sentenced to 14 years in prisonafterwards, the elders told her that as it was only her account against that of sewell, nothing more could be done.

This article was very balanced. It also included other religious organizations in the mix, which should be pointed out to individual JWs: they are not playing favorites. -

Band Green Day and JWs
by hardtobeme ina few years ago i heard of a story about two jw's being at a green day concert.
i think that the witnesses were bethelites.
the person that told me that story said that the band was about to play but they couldn't.

I have it on good authority that Smurfs find meetings boring and will walk out. -

Wolves in sheep clothing
by Israel Ricky Gonzales ini was baptized then i was 15 years old and just entering high school.
i had been a perfect jw teenager through out my high school years, although i craved to be a little bit worldly.
when i graduated high school, i moved out and got a job working with my older non-jw brother.

A far too common story. I can relate to it. -

Question about the fade
by The Big Machine ini know there are a lot of threads on here about fading and i've read a lot of them, but i have a question that i haven't found the answer to yet.. what would happen if you move to a new congregation (or at least tell your old congregation that you are moving and to have your records moved), and you don't go to any meetings?
i see lots of the fading strategies say to go to some meetings and show your face until your name is announced.
what exactly happens if you don't go to meetings in the new congregation?.

Be sure to attend the new hall until your records arrive. When they do, you can basically quit attending. -

Employment Rules in the Watchtower Organization.
by John Aquila ina jehovah witness teacher is allowed to teach nonreligious subjects in a school owned by a religious organization but,.
is not allowed to teach the same subject in a school funded or directed by the military..
since the watchtower views all religious organizations as part of babylon the great who had gods disfavor and would be destroyed at armageddon, no elder including some members of the gb could explain this policy of employment.isocf pg 401.

I mentioned 1980 since that was the year Ray Franz left the Governing Body. There has been no eyes and ears on the inside since that time, but for what Barbara Anderson has been able to shed light on about the early 90's.
Since 2000, with the restructuring, it is a huge black box. GB 2.0 seem less in charge than GB 1.0. At a circuit assembly, I remember Splane saying that Watchtower won't pick him up for the airport if he is not dressed in a suit.

At least up until 1980, rules were designed by committee and only overturned by a 2/3 majority. It led to all sorts of things that were not self-consistent. Malawi and Mexico is a good example. Or the ban on alternative service...which was wrong unless a judge sentenced you to it--but don't suggest that to him!
