Whether the allegations are true or not doesn't invalidate his documentary Going Clear.
Nor does it invalidate the suffering that Scientology has left in its wake.
i was wondering what people think of leah remini's comments on the paul higgins accusations.
she has said that the 5 women that have accused him of rape and sexual harassment are not to be trusted.
she says that because 3 of them want to stay anonymous that must mean that they are not accurate statements.

quite frankly im disturbed at the lack of love and compassion.
especially for the first sister they talk about!.
The subtle message at every circuit and district assembly, and at many meetings is: Pioneer or die!
If you COULD pioneer, but don't, you might be making God angry. You are not putting God first. You are not whole souled. You are giving token service. You are lukewarm. You are giving a blind and lame sacrifice and thus you are unclean.
Could you do more?
Could you do more?
Could you do more?

I'm so glad to be away from this cycle of guilt.
Back when I regular pioneered after high school, the hours were 90 a month. I only made it 6 months...I couldn't even do the full year.
I bought tickets for concert...and then later it turned out that there was a special meeting for pioneers that same evening. I paid money for the tickets and really wanted to go. My father guilted me over this, telling me I was like Esau, trading my birthright for a bowl of soup. In retrospect, I'm glad I went to the concert instead! The pioneer meeting was really the worthless bowl of soup. I chose wisely.
i’ve been here for many years.
the tone seems to be different in this place.
not so many pissed off exjws .
Not angry, relieved. And wishing that relief for all JWs.
it has been sickening to read the most recently leaked documents by faithleaks.
it makes me so angry because so many of us have experienced first hand the horrible policies of the watchtower on abuse.
i feel like these documents are finally the smoking gun we have all been hoping to expose the watchtower, and so far, the only mainstream news that i have seen pick it up is newsweek.. what will it take for the mainstream media pick this up and give it the attention it deserves?
Other equally sized or smaller religious groups like Scientology and the LDS get much more negative press.
What I do wonder if there are a just a handful of JWs who work in various news organization...say NBC or CNN...and they can subtly nudge unfavorable stories to the bottom of the pile.

I do wonder what NBC is doing. They did the Dateline episode...and huge settlements made the nightly news. But since then? Crickets.
It almost makes me wonder if Watchtower has people of influence in some of these news organizations.
someone at my workplace, i don't know who, is a jw and has been leaving magazines in the cafeteria.
any suggestion as to what i could do?
i thought of writing up a note stating: "to whoever is bringing these magazine: jw have broken up my family, please don't bring religion to work.
Now that the focus is on starting conversations, will they still be leaving magazines indiscriminately?

Dr. Phil's main forte seems to be to talk loud over the other person, not listen, and be a jerk.
