by Jules Saturn inso this happened awhile back ago, i was talking to this bethelite that i respect, i consider him to be very sincere.
this was during the time i had discovered the un association the society had as an ngo.

I'm sure in those brief moments when their authentic self surfaces over the cult identity, they can be likable.
But this is going by how likable as public figures they are.

Meeting attendance for elders
by dkztcequ inwhat is the minimum meeting attendace for someone, who is of good health, has not children doesn't work in a job that requires travel and lives about 3 miles from the kh?
is 50% for clam and 75% for watchtower acceptable?.

Yep. 100% attendance is expected of all JWs, unless they have health issues. Otherwise, there is no excuse and they are doomed to eternal destruction. I was never an elder, only made it to ministerial servant, but even ministerial servant have to go above and beyond the average publisher, an elders beyond that.

The REAL Reason I Stopped Going to Meetings
by NoviceLocs14 into sum it up in all one word...pride.. i've always kind of attributed my subconscious "fade" to shame for living a double life by dating my non-jw boyfriend (now husband) while serving as a pioneer in the foreign language field.
but i was actually pretty regular for awhile.. my pioneer hours did start to dwindle, however.
i had always struggled with the hourly requirement, but i was really struggling now.

Not wanting to be humiliated is not pride.
There's a difference between pride and healthy self-esteem that this cult robs people of. These men crossed personal and private boundaries.

The old "Book Study Group"
by The Fall Guy inin the june 2004 kingdom ministry, the self-appointed "faithful slave" published this spiritual exhortation as a q&a item - "the congregation book study—why we need it.
three years later, in 2007 - in the august kingdom ministry - the same "slave" issued this reminder - "how the congregation book study arrangement helps us.
but surprise, surprise - within a few short months the "slave" decided that jehovah had had a change of heart, and now decided that the book study in homes - with all of its alleged benefits - was superfluous: .

Of course, technically the book study is still there. It has been merged with the other meetings.

Are they currently a NGO?
Not of the UN anymore, but are they not an NGO with OSCE?

The Watchtower is compartmentalized and it operates on a need to know basis. Unless a person is a “heavy”, they listen, obey and slave in their assignments, until they get laid off.
Even if a person has heard wind of this, there is always a list of second-hand excuses that they sincerely repeat. “We didn’t join the UN, we were only an NGO to get a library card, ect, ect…”

"No junk mail". How witnesses ignore these signs!
by stuckinarut2 inas we know, many people have "no junk mail" signs on their home letterboxes.
this clearly means that they do not want unsolicited mail or advertising material.. so how are witnesses getting around this?.
during the campaign to distribute the convention invitations, when they come across a house with "no junk mail", they are just putting the leaflet inside an envelope and hand writing "to the householder" on the front and putting it in the letterbox!.

When I was in, I was told NEVER to leave magazines or tracts in mailboxes.
