i was reading in jude last night in the esv bible.. i came across this little gem as i was falling asleep and woke right up.. jude 1:5.
5 now i want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that jesus, who saved a people out of the land of egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

NWT is very biased, especially on the verses that touch of the divinity of Jesus.
But then again, on this verse, I think the ESV is biased here. In the Greek, the word is "Kyrios", that is Lord, not Jesus. Of course, this might be what the writer of Jude had in mind as by the time of this writing, Jesus being fully divine was a widespread teaching.
Unfortunately, it is not a very literal translation of this verse.

I remember a CO saying something to the effect that you could be depressed or bipolar at home...or get out in the ministry (not sure if he mentioned pioneering or not).
But yeah...it is the answer for everything.

Then Russell invited Barbour to prove to him that the invisible presence began in 1874—and Russell was sold on that and of Barbour’s idea that 1914 was the end of the “Gentile Times”.

Being a JW meant constantly wrestling with guilt, but once the lightbulb turned on and I woke up, nope!!!
I voted for the first time in 2012...and have voted in every election, big or small, ever since. There's a governor primary coming up next week, I'm hoping to do that as well.
The first time I wasn't guilty...but I was anxious some JW would spot me and report me to the elders. Didn't happen.
