Have any ex-jws considered joining the Bible Students?
by Rainbow_Troll intheir fundamental beliefs are much like jehovah's witnesses sans the paranoia, authoritarianism, stifling rules, and end-times enthusiasm.
you don't even have to become a bible student to be saved, you could be an idol worshipping heathen and still get resurrected in the milenium.
if i still believed in the divine inspiration of the scriptures, i would be a bible student.

When 2 JWs have the same call...
by schnell inas i was driving past a certain gas station today, i recalled that the family who own it are called on by a friend of mine, and in a territory where it's hard to find interest.
it reminded me of an incident months back when this friend, brother d, discovered that another friend, brother b, was calling on that family too.
hey, gotta make your time.. those two went at it.

Happen to me too. Nobody blew up about it...we were doing RVs in the car group and the other couple ended up calling on the same house I was going to. I ceded it to them.
People take magazines mostly to end the encounter...most JWs realize this, but are then obligated to make them a return visit. Some people just take the magazines to be nice and support the apparently friendly JWs who sometimes come to their door.

If you look real hard at the picture on page 42 of the latest study publication, fold it, put it in a mirror, and squint, you will see the Reptilians remote control the Governing Body, who are merely robots, from a UFO orbiting Planet X. But they are not part of the Illuminati...that's just crazy talk!

I’ve been thinking about projection more and more lately. Sometimes people mentally project onto external events, objects or people qualities that are simply within the mind. Those who are indoctrinated project their indoctrination and everything can be a sign.
Like the weather facilitating the printing of the Revised NWT (never mind the printing mistake in the header of Numbers). Or a hurricane delivering needed sand (never mind those people and homes destroyed). Or how about those evil mentally diseased “apostates” (never mind they are just normal people who just happen to not share JW beliefs anymore).
Of course, I’ve noticed this as well in some “apostates” when it comes to projecting on the organization any number of wild conspiracy theories.

Do you still go to meetings?
by NikL inas i was sitting in the meeting last night i thought about this question.. sometimes it feels really lonely because i don't connect with most others in the congregation and i have to be so careful with the ones with whom i do associate.. quick rundown on my life...got baptized at 17...married at 20...became inactive at 28 wife still active though...came back to meetings with her 20 years later just to keep her quiet and see if they had changed (for a while i actually thought they had)...now i am still inactive and haven't gone out in service or anything.
i just go to meetings with my wife who is happy as a lark to have me there with her...just go to meetings and think...and think...and think.... anyway, i just wondered if there are any out there like me who are going to meetings and nothing else?.

It's been over four years since I've been to a meeting.
It's great! :)

Jehovah's Limp Witnesses Pointed Me to JW.org When I Was Willing to Talk
by steve2 inseveral months ago i approached a nice young couple who were standing by a jw literature stand in my local community.
they were pleasant and polite but incredibly stilted when it came to answering my "innocent" questions about their beliefs.
this was the occasion of jws featuring the article headlined "is religion dying?".

Gone are the days of the JWs who could defend or even understand their own beliefs.
Basically, if confronted, they might go get an article from the JW online library, but they are not prepared to discuss it or field any questions about it.
When worse comes to worse, the strategy is like something from Monty Python and the Holy Grail: Run away! Run away!

Australian Royal Commission, March 2017 & the February 2017 Watchtower
by Londo111 inthe february 2017 watchtower says: “the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.
therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction.”.
could this frank admission be a prelude to any fallout to australian royal commission’s recommendations in march 2017?.

Maybe this admission opens the door for them to make some changes. Maybe.

Help! I'm having a cart attack!
by Funchback in1. three jw ladies, standing on the avenue along the beach here in sunny, warm fortaleza, ceará (brazil)2. two jw guys sitting on a bench doing the same as the ladies in pic 13. let's see how productive they are being doing this urgent, life-saving work.

If I'm not mistaken, not every JW gets to do carts. Only if approved by the elders. Usually pioneers. The rank and file still have go door to door.

Easy time. Back when I was a JW, you could only count time in pairs (door-to-door, business, street witnessing, Bible studies).
This is like some sort of joke: How many JWs does it take to watch a cart?
