Money. Plain and simple.
Sanders and Biden have the money rolling in. Everyone else is tapped.
i am wondering if the dems dropping out who were "in it to the end" are dropping out because of having to shake hands and go into crowds with the corona virus spreading.
hmmm.

my mother is a jw.
i studied for several years and ultimately could not digest what was being served.
for the last 20 years my mother has done nothing to prepare for retirement.
There was a woman in my academy class who looked vaguely familiar. During the academy one of our instructors always took time out to provide advice on how to plan for retirement. By the end of the academy this woman stated to the instructor during class that she appreciated the advice because her parents taught her that "this system was going to end before she ever got old." She went on to state to the class that her parents were now of retirement age and had not saved at all for it.
At graduation I saw her parents and then I remembered that some 15 years prior her father, an elder, gave the Sunday talk at my congregation. I was embarrassed for her because at our graduation ceremony her dad went around with a Watchtower and Awake magazine and tried to place them with other people attending.
That was 18 years ago.
i was listening to a radio show about a jw women who had been disfellowshiped , her daughter cut off all contact ,must admit at the time i thought so what.. then this man phoned up and explained he was disfellowshiped for asking about jws being ngo in the united nations during 90s till early 2000s when a newspaper exposed them , i still thought he's a apostate but looked it up found the article then found this forum and even more info..
For me it wasn't one single thing, but a number over a period of about 16 years.
1) I was 19, a Ministerial Servant, working in the Accounting Department at a Circuit Assembly. The elder in charge and I were listening to the program up in the accounting office of the Assembly Hall. The speaker mentioned a change in alternative service for when brothers were drafted into the military. The "new light" was that alternative service is now alright to take whereas before you had to turn that down too and just go to prison. This elder new many were were affected by this back during the Vietnam War. I saw how deeply this affected him as he chose alternative service as a non-Witness back then.
2) I was in my 30s and my family attended a convention with my parents. On the way home my father shared with me a story about a Circuit Overseer in our home state that intentionally looked for Witnesses who claimed to be Annointed for the purpose of disfellowshipping them. My father shared if we had stayed instead of moving out of state he would have been targeted for disfellowshipping.
3) I was about 35 when my father revealed something deeply disturbing to be. I was 13 when my father moved our family to another state. My father claims to be Annointed and was the presiding overseer in our home state's congregation. When we moved into our new congregation in our new state, that new congregation's presiding overseer told family heads not to associate with us. My father learned that when 3 different brothers came forward and told my father some 22 years after it happened. I then knew why no one ever truly befriended my family and I.
4) About a year later I began to learn why the story of Noah's Flood in the Bible could not have happened from a standpoint of physics. That was the final straw for me.
hello all, i'm 'researching', a jw who is in the first steps of taking a look at their beliefs.. i've semi-recently (about a couple weeks ago) heard about the sexual abuse cases (pennsylvania attorney general’s investigation request) and then the arc in 2015. this lead to a deep investigation, which lead to many questions arising.
a jw friend of mine suggested i be careful (due to apostates) and ask the brothers.
so i typed up my questions + concerns and emailed an elder my mother has known for a long time.
Satan was an angel of Jehovah. Therefor he was part of "Jehovah's organization." Satan is an apostate.
You cannot be an apostate and have never been a Witness.

ARC is "apostate"? It can't be apostate if the ARC were never Witnesses. I wonder if news services reporting on the Russian persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses are "apostate driven lies" as well.
saw this on the bbc and thought you should see it:is 25 the new cut-off point for adulthood?

i was baptized in my early 20s so now realize was too young mentally to understand the full impact of that decision and the long term impact on my life.. the org should stop putting pressure on young ones to get baptized..
think our issue isn't with minors getting baptized, but rather how Jehovah's Witnesses treat baptism. Baptism is supposedly an outward display of accepting the God of the Bible, His Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. Just like a wedding is nothing more than a ceremony that two people who decided to be exclusive with one another go through to publicly let everyone known "Hey, we're an item. We are no longer available for romantic relationships."
The problem is baptism in the Jehovah's Witness religion is an outward display or statement that means the individual is officially a part of that religious organization. It is not about accepting God or Jesus as your savior. I could have been baptized as a Presbyterian and then later in life become a Methodist. I wouldn't be shunned by my Presbyterian family and friends. I could even stop going to church all together and there would be no problem.
i have been feeding my very pimi brother tidbits and clippings of all the csa issues coming to light the last five years and all the org's business dealings of hundreds of closed halls congs dissolving etc.
and reminding him of all the failed prophecies etc etc.
although he would listen and acknowledge.
I get it. Every great once in a while I hear about something that makes me think for a brief moment that maybe everything we were basically taught was true. I mean very basic - 1)There is a Jehovah and 2) there will be an Armageddon. Then I quickly switch to - 1)Even if there is, I won't worship because I don't want to live forever on Earth with only Jehovah's Witnesses. That would be a type of Hell.
I am basically saying is I get how a PIMI may see and accept all the wrong doing of the Watchtower, but still be afraid of losing their goal of everlasting life for leaving.
where does one begin ?.
jehovah`s witnesses pride themselves as being a bible based religion ,that their beliefs and practices are all bible based ?.
words & phrases jehovah`s witnesses use or have used that are not in the bible.. organization.
BluesBrother:
This link discusses the difference between the Biblical doctrine of grace vs the Watchtower doctrine of undeserved kindness.
https://jwdoctrine.com/concept-grace-undeserved-kindness/
I saw another post where the writer states that Fred Franz came up with "undeserved kindness" because it elevated the idea in addition to promoting the idea that we are all unlovable pieces of garbage who must do more and more to earn salvation. Whereas grace is a gift given freely out of love.

Fulltimestudent makes a valid point. Some of the words we have listed may be considered a simple exercise in semantics. However, others are worthy of the list. I can think of no other that is more condemning than the term "publisher."
Publisher literally is a person who sells or distributed printed material. There is no scripture or evidence that Jesus or the first century Christian congregation printed and distributed any literature. Not even the books that would end up in the Bible. If they did, they certainly wouldn't have done it for a profit such as the Watchtower did for nearly a century until the "voluntary donation arrangement" replaced the sales price of their literature. Thus showing that Jehovah's Witnesses are and have been a business and use a business model right down to the local congregations.
we hear how the economy is much healthier now.
are you better off than you were before, or the same or worse?
?.
In the past 2 fiscal years I have received a total of a 14% increase in pay while the average increase over that same time period was 6%. I started my current position in January of 2010 at about $50,000.00. I will probably break $100,000.00 this year.
