  if somebody knocks on your door and wants to enter your home (for whatever reason) you are faced with a decision process based, in part, on your ability to suss out why you do or do not allow entrance.. agreed?example:.

  "i'm being stalked by a madman--please let me hide inside" would be a strong emotional reason.

  Immigrants are not criminals as a result of their immigration. The went through proper channels to enter and stay in the country.

  Criminal Aliens is the topic at hand. A Criminal Alien is a foreign national who enters a country without permission and may stay or even does stay until deportation. To commit this offense in the United States is a federal misdemeanor.

  Illegal Re-Entry be a Criminal Alien is a federal felony. Its when a previously deported Criminal Alien comes back to the United States after being deported. Such a criminal offender faces a prison sentence of up to 15 years and most plead out to a 5 year sentence.

  So, immigrants are not being framed as "criminals", but rather Criminal Aliens are being framed as "immigrants".

  The human species has been slaughtering itself over tens of thousands of years with no end in sight. Every known culture has participated in the practice of enslaving others and the practice goes on to this very day in some form or another. None of that has any bearing on a sovereign nation's right to secure its borders or decide who can and cannot step foot on its soil.

  Situation C:

  Someone sneaks into your house without your permission. Your neighbor tells you that you have to let them stay because you have such a nice house that even has a spare bedroom. You point to your neighbor that if he wishes to help the trespasser that he should accept him into his house. Your neighbor refuses stating that he shouldn't have to because you are financially better off and tells you to stop being greedy. Also, you just don't want the trespasser in your home because you're racist.

  Another Aspect from which to View Prostitution

  if we put on our western cultural (you know, the ones that say jesus made the world) eye-glasses we will 'see' prostitution as something bad.. the 'christian' influenced view is that prostitution is a criminal racket run by gangsters, and the women (and sometimes men) have either been bullied by their pimps, or drugged until they become addicts and forced to work in brothels.**.

  some of that is likely true (at times), but is it always 'truth'?.

  australia's government owned abc media network, has an article that invites us to take off our western cultural eye-glasses and see the world as it really is.

  Marriage is a horrible institution that has no place in a modern, free society. That's a different subject.

  Two consenting adults get paid by a third party to have sex while being filmed - legal.

  One consenting adult pays another consenting adult to have sex - illegal.

  It has nothing to do with prostitution. It has to deal with human trafficking and compelled prostitution. Much like the "War on Drugs", if prostitution were regulated there would be no issue.

  quite randomly as i was working away at my desk i remembered an illustration from the bible teach book in which satan claimed he knew better than jehovah about ruling mankind.

  Based on this Watchtower analogy, Jehovah should have told Satan that if he could do a better job to do so. Jehovah should have created a parallel universe, transported Satan to it, and told him to run it for a few thousand years. At the end of that time they could compare results. Everyone liking the prime universe gets to stay and everyone liking Satanville gets transported over there.

  Anyone watching Star Trek Discovery?

  so i've been watching the show and really enjoying it.

  great to see a trek tv series finally get a reasonable budget.

  beautiful costumes, sets, cinematography, action pieces, etc.. really my only complaints are how cg all the ships look and there's a fair bit of stiff dialog from time to time.. what do you guys think of the show?.

  I must be getting old. As time passes I seem to like only the original more and more.

  Same with Star Wars. I've come to the conclusion that Rogue One, A New Hope, and The Empire Strikes Back are all that are worth watching.

  because of this site i realized that there were many people who were active jehovah’s witnesses really didn’t believe in god at all.

  i’m curious how many people believe in god?

  The question "Who still believes in God?" is grammatically incorrect due to it being intellectually dishonest.

  "Who..." - "Of all living humans..." This is grammatically acceptable as well as intellectually honest.

  "Still..." - "After examining all the evidence..." This is grammatically acceptable as well as intellectually honest.

  "Believes..." - "Holds an opinion that is not necessarily based on facts..." This is grammatically acceptable as well as intellectually honest.

  "In..." - A better choice of words would be "the existence or past existence."

  "God" - Here is the biggest problem. "God" is implied to be the YHWY, Jesus, Allah of the Judeo-Christian-Islamic faiths. To accept the existence of one of these 3 you must accept the existence of the gods of all faiths exist. The factual evidence used in an attempt to prove the existence of "God" also proves the existence of all "gods".

  So a the better way to word the questions "Why still believe in God?" would be -

  "Who among all of us, after examining all the evidence, holds an opinion that is not necessarily fact based that there exists or there has been in existence the gods of human religion?"

  Which is better minimum wage or minimum income?

  we were having this discussion in the office the other day and we came to the conclusion minimum wage is better because it still adds to the economy vs minimum income which someone could potentially stay at home and do nothing and still get paid without producing a thing for the greater economy.. thoughts?.

  In the United States we have a minimum wage - sort of...

  I remember when I was in my early 20s, just before I started college, I believe the minimum wage was $5.25 where I was living. I applied for a job as a security guard with a small, local security company. I was told I had the job if I wanted it, but that they only paid $5.00 an hour and easy said that it was below minimum wage. I didn't care. I needed income.

  In the US we import persons from impoverished nations who are willing to work for below minimum wage or for less than those who are currently doing the work. This is done both legally through work visas or illegally by paying criminal aliens in cash. Then, for those companies who do not wish to deal with the above they simply outsource their work to impoverished nations where persons are willing to work for much, much less then in the United States.

  Labor has a value. Minimum wage will not support a person or a family. However, it is not the responsibility of private business to house, clothe, and feed people. Neither is it the responsibility of the government in a free society.

  the biggest scandal of this era, or a false alarm by the gop?

  i am skeptical what will come of it, however, some very strong reactions and words are coming from its existence and those who read it, also the fight to keep it secret is telling (reminds me of any cult trying to prevent people from reading damaging information).

  Release it.

  I believe it will implicate some high level people who are no longer in office and the FBI.

  I probably won't be released as it most likely contains information that casts a poor light on President Trump even though it will exonerate he and his campaign from collusion with the Russians.
