"Idea Laundering" through "Grievance Studies" really reveals a lot to what is going on. The vacuum created by Modernism was filled with Post-Modernism. In short, a lack of a spiritual practice caused a hunger which is now being filled with this new religion.

Racism in in the very DNA of humans. Us vs Them has been an issue throughout all of human history. Blame makes living easier because you don't have to reflect upon your own deficiencies.
Is there racism in the U.S.? Yes. Is it worse or better than the past? Is it worse or better than in any other country in the world? I don't know.
I do know that media news networks make money off it. Red makes green. I have seen online news site posting stories of "systemic racism" in which the events took place 2 or 3 years ago. The flames are intentionally being stoked.
The biggest issue is that racism comes from fear. Fear incites a response for protection and the first and easiest form of protection the brain knows is anger. Anger does not allow for reason.
Race relations have gotten worse because people have stopped reasoning in lieu of strong emotion, primarily anger.

I recently read a book that draws out that the writings of the Apostles John and Paul indicate they both believed Jesus would return BEFORE they died.
What actually constitutes "last days"? If there is an end, wouldn't any day after the first constitute last days? Based on Paul and John's teachings, every day after the resurrection of Jesus has been part of the "last days".

Overall crime has been down for over a decade, but there has been a recent uptick in violent crime. Especially domestic crimes. COVID-19 lock downs have a lot to do with this.

Unfortunately television, movies, and big cable news paint a picture of what life is, including what the U.S. of America is. So what do we see?
Los Angeles
San Francisco
New York City
Chicago
Miami
There is so much more to the U.S. than this mega urban centers. The "salt of the earth" is usually found outside these giant cities.

I don't get it - Marriage in WT world
by menrov inin wt world, a marriage is only seen (considered) as legal if it is registered in the municipality (or similar governmental organisation).
now, if you look at the scriptures, there was no requirement to have a marriage legally registered in order to be considered married.
is it not strange that the wt subjects themselves to and adopts an worldly arrangement setup but governments rules by satan when it comes to a marital status?.

I often wondered the same. I understand that "not to bring reproach" you are required to obtain a marriage license where the state says you're not married without a license. However, I remember several weddings where Witnesses were to still "chaperon" the wedding couple until they signed their marriage license so they wouldn't commit fornication.
That is crazy! Those actions state that the spiritual marriage ceremony before God and man has no meaning. Only signing a piece of paper from the government. Not to mention, I had a friend who was disciplined by the body of elders because he was engaged to a woman and then he broke the engagement off. How much more trouble would you get into if you literally just exchanges vows in front of the congregation and then went "Nope! I change my mind," and then not sign the license.

I found it was frowned upon to ever pray for the well being of any non-Witness. Just proof that Jehovah's Witnesses are not a Christian religion. Jesus' very words were that even the nation greet their brothers. Jesus commanded to love your enemies.

#8 - Rules of an argument state that the party who states something "is" has the burden of proof. The party that states something "is not" has no burden.
If I state I believe there is a god, I have the burden to prove it. If I state I don't believe in god I have no burden of proof.

Witness reaching out to me after 20+ years...
by SouthCentral ina few weeks ago; a witness couple from the midwest reached out to me after 25+ years.
they said they were doing a letter writing campaign and decided to reach out to me… they called on my personal cell phone, which was a little surprising.
a few days ago, a couple that i knew from over 40 years ago, sent me a text, again to my personal cell phone.. i assume that they just googled my name to get the personal info.

There is a definite effort by JWs to try to "re-active" "inactive" Witnesses. I received a link to a video on their website via text message. The video was made for that direct purpose.
There was another video drama done showing a former Witness walking past a literature cart on her morning commute. There is a flashback scene where she remembers her baptism as a child. Then she attends a convention.

Was Sin Inevitable?
by Parker ini was wondering about this question and wanted to ask: was sin inevitable?
also, i had thought about past watchtower articles or publications related to this topic and did some research and found this from our readers ask if adam was perfect, how was it possible for him to sin?.
well, then, did god create adam with a moral weakness, so that he lacked the ability to make sound decisions or to withstand temptation?

What is "sin"? Both the Hebrew and Greek words for this word are an archery term meaning "To miss the mark" or specifically in Hebrew "To miss the golden center of the target." We also have to know the Biblical definition of "perfection." That definition is "brought to its end, finished; lacking nothing necessary to completeness."
What is the mark being missed in a sin? It is to violate God's law. If Adam and Eve violated God's law, they sinned. So, perfection has not bearing on sin. Otherwise Jesus' sacrifice would be meaningless. Jesus could have sinned, but chose not to, and died a perfect man. Thus, balance was restored.
What is interesting is that to sin is to violate a law God has given. The question asked by Plato is "Is it pious because the gods say it is or is it pious because it is pious and the gods have told us so?" In other words - Is it good because God says it is good or is it good because it is good and God has told us so?
If it is good because it is good, God is only a messenger, and whether God still exists or not has no bearing on morality. However, if good is good because God says so then good is subjective to God's wants and desires, which means good doesn't exist.
If you walk into a dark room and see a burning candle you have had a subjective experience. If you close you eyes or turn your back on the candle it is still there. Objective things can be experienced through subjectivity. Therefor we can see good or evil and recognize it.
