“A man was going down from London to Salisbury and fell victim to robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went off, leaving him half-dead. Now by coincidence a Circuit Overseer was going down on that road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side. Likewise, an Elder, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the opposite side. But a certain apostate traveling the road came upon him, and at seeing him, he was moved with pity. So he approached him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. Then he mounted him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two quid, gave them to the innkeeper, and said: ‘Take care of him, and whatever you spend besides this, I will repay you when I return.’ Who of these three seems to you to have made himself neighbor to the man who fell victim to the robbers?” He said: “The one who acted mercifully toward him.” Jesus then said to him: “Go and do the same yourself.”

by My Name is of No Consequence infor those of you who've watched the witnesses documentary, let's suppose for a moment that the org was forced to make their database of abusers available to the courts.
if this database is as detailed and meticulous as it is claimed, how in the world could the org (in its present form) survive that?
assuming they don't go bankrupt after all of the new abuse claims, would they go underground, shut down the kingdom halls, stop the preaching?

let's suppose for a moment that the org was forced to make their database of abusers available to the courts.
Who said it isn't. The problem is, to this point, the investigations have been either 1) Administrative in nature (e.g. government spearheaded, but not a criminal investigation by law enforcement) or, 2) a civil action taken by victim or victims.
My understanding is that the Attorney General's Office of the State of New Jersey is officially launching a criminal investigation into the Watchtower for it's policy of not reporting child sex abuse to law enforcement authorities, which is a crime in many state in the US. Once that agency has sufficient probable cause, a Search Warrant signed by a state judge in New Jersey will fix all that. Literally, the AG's Office investigators will show up and take the Watchtower's servers by force. When I say servers I mean ever device capable of holding digital data.

You too can have "food at the proper time" streamed directly into your home on your television or your mobile device with "Jehovah's Christian Network". For only a reoccurring donation of $15.99 a month on your credit card you too can partake of "meat in due season".
Later that same week at the weekly meeting a letter is read -
"As Jehovah's true servants we would only want to watch television programs that are spiritually clean and approved for viewing by the His earthly organization. ANY viewing of television programs not approved would demonstrate a clear and brazen act of disobedience toward Jehovah's Faith Slave and therefor Jehovah himself."

I went to college. I obtained 2 degrees I have 20 years in a profession. I don't think I have ever used algebra at work, but some assignments in my profession do (vehicular crash reconstruction).
My son wanted to go to college, but now wants to go to trade school. He will probably make more money than me right out of trade school. I am rather proud of that.

I always like Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future. Of course, the problem with any utopia is that human nature tends to focus on the self and material/physical things and therefor make said utopia unobtainable.

Former elders did you ever ?
by Fadeaway1962 inhi did any former elders ever suggest that bro & sis should go to the police?.
there was a group of sis with various health conditions and on medications had a gathering and drank a lot wine , one of the sister physically assaulted another sis , myself and a another elder were assigned to deal with it after hearing what happened i said to the sis she could contact the police the other elder a lot older gave me a dirty look , the sis said i trust you bro to deal with it .. i think that's why witnesses don't get the police involved because we have been convinced that we can trust the elders and the organisation , and to trust and have faith that god knows all the facts and can read hearts and will deal with it in his time scale and encouraged to leave it with him and not to bring reproach on his name..

My first full time job in law enforcement included duties to assist our detectives. The department I worked for had 1 detective whose full time job was to work cases involving juvenile victims. There was a case in our jurisdiction involving a Witness who sexually molested a child in the congregation. On of the Witnesses in the case was an elder who used to be in my congregation, but moved to the congregation where this crime occurred.
This elder was dodging subpoena service for the trial. The detective was frustrated as this elder was a key witness to the case. I told the detective I would handle it. I served the elder his subpoena personally. It was one of the things that opened my eyes and started me down the path of leaving the Watchtower behind.

Will Armageddon Survivors Be Able to Marry?
by Expanded-Mind inhi blondie!.
thirteen years ago you commented on an idea circulating among some jws prior to 1975, that there was a possibility that armageddon survivors might not be able to marry.. "these vows that honor god are used—not from the bible but the only ones sanctioned by the wts.. for as long as we both shall live together on earth according to god's marital arrangement.. when i was in my 20’s, many jws interpreted this to mean that at some point in the 'new system' marriage would end.
since this was shortly before 1975, many jws rushed to get married worried that they would never have the chance (and never have the chance to have sex.

I remember often hearing about how -
1) Resurrected ones will not be allowed to marry (Jesus says so in the Gospels).
2) A time may come in the New System/World when all marriages will be absolved and there will be no more marriage.
#2 is directly related to the OP question. I think this was a prudish way of saying "One day, in the New System, there will no longer be sex." This I believe is related to the issue of overcrowding the Earth. End marriage = end of sex = no overcrowding.
This line of reasoning in itself is leads one to the direct Biblical truth that 1) Adam & Eve in the garden in Eden was allegory. 2) humans were never intended to live forever.
