i have listened to steven unthank`s podcast and found it very informative and interesting and thought i would ask this question for anyone who is still a practicing member either a pimo or a pomo who only goes along for a family member ,whether this doctrine is still a part of the religions teachings ,or whether it has been dropped altogether .. your replies are much appreciated ..
I'm with Room 215 - I would have thought there would have been whispering from the bleachers on this one. My father has proclaimed to be of the annointed since he converted back in the 1960s. Since I've been inactive since 2006 and completed out since 2010, he and I do not speak much. I have wondered what his take on this is. He filled me in back in 2005 that those who proclaimed to be of the annointed were often targeted by the organization for expulsion.
excellent video from theramin tree's.
it's funny that we can relate entirely to the jw's in this.

This is probably one of the best videos every made for giving a JW the a slight nudge to waking up to the truth about the Truth. The end reminded me of the infinite regress argument of "It's turtles all the way down." A philosopher debated the belief that the earth was supported by elephants that stood on the back of a giant tortoise. When the philosopher asked an elderly woman who supported the belief "What supports the tortoise?" the woman replied with a reptilian smile and retorted "I see what you're trying to do, but it's turtles all the way down." The Witness acted in the same way.
a brother who is not baptized ( so there's still hope for him ) had a sister recently run into him at a store.
show wanted to know if he's going to the kingdom hall.
she asked him to write a letter for her to give to his mother ( who's deceased) in the paradise explaining why he didn't make it.
“By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”—JOHN 13:35.
I would reply - "Lady, that's about as unloving as you can get, which just reaffirms that Jehovah's Witnesses are not God's people. Either I'm right or your better off tying a millstone around your neck and throwing yourself into the ocean."
a little back story.
i met this women she was a coworker friend mine (found out she used to be a jw also).
one night after we got to drinking, things almost heated up.. she came on to me (she leaned in and tried to kiss me) i turned her down because i knew she had a bf.
Good.
Bad.
These are subjective titles imposed on people by other people who step outside of opinion based morality.
Two consenting adult can do what the whilst with each other. Kiss her. Don't kiss her. Neither makes you any better or worse.
i personally have a very distinct sense of style and fashion which many of the fellow jdubs frown upon.
recently, i was told by a few specially self righteous ones that i looked like a prostitute in a pair of white boots!
a pair of 3 inch heeled, just a little taller than the ankle boots, with skirt that came down to my knees and a black long sleeve shirt that came up to my collarbone.
I got called in the back when I was in my early twenties. Apparently I caused a big stir with the District Overseer who attended our Circuit Assembly. I was told my hair was to short.
I had gotten a high & tight flat top. I was getting horrible scalp sores back then. I told them it was for health reasons.
I was told I may be treated like black brothers who could not shave their face because of health reasons - no talks from the platform. That never happened.
Side note: A elder from the other congregation that shared our Hall said he thought my hair looked great.
i think trump will be the nominee for the republicans and the democrats... i have no clue.
i hope bernie sanders runs again and wonder if hillary would dare go for a rematch..
I don't think Sanders can run as the Democratic Party presidential nominee. I believe the DNC adopted a new rule to prevent any more Sanders like candidates from running in that race. Sanders is not or ever will be a Democrat. He traditionally runs a Democrat for Senate, refuses to accept the nomination, and then runs as an Independent.
In reality, it doesn't matter who the DNC runs against Trump in the 2020 presidential race - Trump will get re-elected.
it was shocking.. all these years later, i found myself crying for the dead for the first time..
It was a Tuesday if I recall. My wife and I had gotten up to go out in field service. I was between jobs and pioneering until my new job started in a month. We received a phone call from my mother-in-law who lives closer to the east coast ( we were on the west coast). She said we need to turn on the tv.
I remember the meeting for field service was rather surreal. Our Presiding Overseer led the meeting for field service. He recommended we not make any presentations of literature, but rather we offer a scripture of comfort.
Later that night he had our Book Study. It was held in the conductor's home. He had the news on which was following the attack. We watched the news right up until it was time to start the meeting.
I don't recall ever thinking the attack was some sort of beginning of the great tribulation. I think part of the reason was a decade earlier we saw the first Gulf War start and my dad told our family that may have been a sign of the beginning of the great tribulation. It was not. It was just another war.
The only things that have changed since then are 1) Presiding Overseers are now called Coordinator of the Body of Elders, 2) Book Studies are no longer on their own night or held in private homes, and 3) I learned 9 years later the truth about the Truth.
i had two episodes of visiting exjw websites:one time around 2007 when i just googled "jehovah´s witnesses" and dared to look at those sites.
i was scared and i promised myself i would never come back to them.
however, that one didn´t really count.the moment that woke me up was this:i got to know that whitney heichel was a jw and murdered by another jw, because i overheard that conversation in a kingdom hall.i looked up the news and in one of the news comments, there was one where an exjw was complaining that they were hijacking her funeral and they were really trying to downplay the fact that her murderer was a jw... and then it said "visit jwfacts.com"... which i did.and the rest... is history.what exactly got you onto an apostate website when you woke up?
It was 2010 and I was in the worst scenario possible - Physically Out, Mentally In. I had been considered inactive for probably 5 years at that point. Since 2006 I had only attended the Memorial. However, I was still living by JW standards and beliefs.
It was a week before the Memorial of 2010 when my father called me. He encouraged me to attend the Memorial which I would have done regardless. He made it sound like something special was going to happen at that year's Memorial. Something special did happen.
The first thing I recall about the Memorial of 2010 was that it was my first exposure to the current songbook. I had no idea a new songbook had been released. The other issue is that, although the songs used for the Memorial were in the current and previous songbook, the song had been changed, shortened. I felt like a complete outsider at that moment.
The next thing that was painfully obvious at the end of the Memorial talk was that it was the exact same outline I had heard every Memorial for my entire life. I could probably quote it verbatim. I was just another Memorial.
As I left the rented hotel banquet room that was used for the Memorial I swore I would never attend another one. The next day I visited this website. The scales fell off my eyes and I learned about the truth about the Truth.
will you avoid nike or tend to not buy apparel because of their support of colin kap?
would you stop doing business with anyone simply because you disagree with their politics?
in california, in and out burger, democrats were being told not to support the chain because they donated to republicans.. will politics affect your spending habits?.
I won't spend Nike/Levi prices for clothing regardless of their pandering. This is all out of control and headed no where fast.
