  Beard update

  so it's been over a month since i decided to grow a beard.

  the mustache and chin have come in fuller than i ever imagined - while the cheeks leave me wondering if i'll ever grow enough hair to make it not look so wildly unkept and patchy (if anyone has any advice here it'd be much appreciated).

  but in the mean time i'll give it another month and see how it goes.. .

  Anti-JW movie on Netflix?

  i'm watching the new netflix movie "come sunday".

  it's one more film about a person who has turning point in life that demands the person to reevaluate his own faith and belief system.

  in this case, the man is a petencostal bishop that gets very famous and has a big church preaching about salvation to heaven and punishment in hell.

  Sounds like a crowdfunded movie is in order. Obviously most Witnesses won't watch it. I think the target audience should be non-Witnesses.

  I think another project should be an educational brochure for law enforcement on what they should know and expect when investigating allegations of child abuse when the victim and abuser are Witnesses.

  Let's talk business ...

  i am thinking that this could be an interesting topic.

  most of us never had a chance to go to college, many of us were involved in various service industries like cleaning and such, and we have had some limitations placed on us.

  so i thought it might be interested to see what has worked for people, what hasn't, what the progression has been, where people went wrong and where they got it right.

  My situation is slightly different. I was in my early twenties back in the early 90s. At that time the organization was ok with some higher education (Not 4 year universities, but community college courses and trade schools). I went to college for 2 years with the intent (and cover story) to get certified as a LAN engineer. Instead I earned 2 degrees - Criminal Justice and Spanish.

  I have about 8 years left before I retire from 25+ year career in law enforcement. I have been playing with the idea for a while to open a Private Investigations business. I like the idea of being my own boss. Plus the money to be made can be immense in my area.

  49th Anniversary of my PAROLE from Federal prison

  today is the 49th anniversaryof my parole from federal prison.

  in french, "parole" means 'word of honor'.in effect, a prisoner promises the authorities they will be honorable.. in 1967, i violated the u.s. military training and service act.about 25,000 draft age americans simply ran away to canada.i did not run.

  i stayed and gave my 'witness.".

  49 years later - still not apology even though they have partially flip-flopped on their stance. This is one of the things that started me on the journey of getting out.

  it's my first time on this site though i am no stranger in the ex-jw community.

  i come to you now asking for your assistance in what to present to the dean of students at my university.. why am i meeting with dean of students, you may ask?

  because today, while innocently finishing an assignment in the school library, i happened to look out the window and see the jws with their stupid little cart.

  Isn't ironic that JWs are witnessing on a college campus when higher education is forbidden by them? That's no different that people handing out pamphlets on why "Meat is Murder" at a butcher shop.

  How Precious Is A Governing Body Mole(Double Agent, 5th Colunm) To Sabatoge The Watchtower Organization?

  i would suppose that there are many at very sensitive operations at headquarters and around the world that are moles or double agents a 5th column if you will that are in but mentally out and full of hated for the governing body.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/fifth_column.

  a fifth column is any group of people who undermine a larger group from within, usually in favour of an enemy group or nation.

  the activities of a fifth column can be overt or clandestine.

  I can't tell you how many times I had heard it said by those in the organization that if there is a "secret sinner" in a congregation such a situation would cause Jehovah to withhold his Holy Spirit from that congregation.

  With that being said, a leak at HQ in Walkhill would certainly be considered an apostate if the leaker was doing it for the purpose of exposing the organization. Following their own logic, Jehovah would then with hold his spirit from Bethel. I do know what this fear is something that consumes Bethel.

  So then, if such a leak existed it would mean one of two things:

  1) Jehovah is with holding his spirit from the organization or

  2) There is no Jehovah

  So, I see it as being relevant when confronted by Jehovah's Witnesses as to why we left.

  Life during the 1,000 reign???

  me and my brother recently got into a discussion about the 1,000 reign.

  i told him that even after armageddon, you know that you still have to work for your salvation??

  he says yes, that he is prepared to work for jehovah (wth), and that it will be a wonderful time.

  Back in 2010 when I first began to visit this site there was a post containing a fictional story of what life would be like in this hypothetical paradise/new world. It was well written and really brought out how horrible life would be in the Witness "New World". If anyone can remember that post and put up the link I would appreciate it.

  ) and the sheeples, that for a variety of reasons, stick with this nonsense.. not every jw publisher believes this stuff.

  The whole reason Christianity was invented by the Romans was to pacify the growing number of disgruntled, poor citizens across their empire. The Jews were ready for a violent uprising. The Jews were expecting their Messiah to appear and lead an army to free them from Roman occupation and control. To the Jews, a tax collector for the Romans was the lowest of the low and was despised. Then came Jesus of Nazareth.

  This Jesus guy starts saying that you should not take up arms. Jesus says to pay your taxes. Jesus says not to concern yourself with acquiring wealth or possessions because your reward is in the magical realm of heaven.

  Jehovah's Witnesses are just one of many sects that have sprung from this pro-Roman Empire (i.e. pro-government, mass pacifier) system of belief. Jehovah's Witnesses are comprised of a mass army of high school educated, out of shape window washers who don't have two nickels to rub together. They are taught as Jesus taught - nothing in this life is worthwhile other than making it to the other side of Judgment Day. As such, pursuit of knowledge, wealth, and position are shunned and obedience is valued more than sacrifice.

  I attended my last One Day Assembly in December of 2006. I remember seeing these Witness men filling the volunteer role of Attendant standing guard at places. They stood at attention and looked like they felt 10 feet tall. They looked like they just had the President of the United States award them the Medal of Honor. Yes, there they stood - in their dated $40.00 Goodwill suits, champions of the organization. Enjoy the feeling. Revel in it! Because when you walk outside those doors you will go back to your life of an underachiever. Come Monday morning you will stare at your GED hung proudly hanging on the wall, walk up the stairs of your parents' basement and have a bowl of Corn Flakes before heading off to wash windows for 10 hours at $7.50 an hour. Then you will climb into your 1982 Reliant K Car and race home to change into your earth tone cheap suit because tonight your are handling the microphones at the weekday meeting. This is a shining example of one of Jehovah's obedient servants.

  Why do so many that leave wind up coming back?!

  most do not live the average life of living in suburbs, raising a family.

  I believe it is because of the fact that they do not build up a support system outside of the organization. If you refuse to establish relationships with non-Witnesses prior to leaving you will have no one to socialize with. The loneliness gets to them. Sure the go back, but never to uber-Dub levels. They just do the bare minimum to gain their social support system back.

  Prior to my escape from the organization I was near 100% reliant on non-Witnesses for my social support group. Losing the support of my parents was all that I really lost. I have a huge non-Witness family in my profession who are there for me 24/7. 7 billion people living on this planet and 7 million are Witnesses. Why limit yourself?
