Some states, like mine, have a mandatory reporting law. Failure to report a felony child abuse case is a crime. Perhaps when the rank and file start doing jail time and the organization shrugs its shoulders when they do something might happen.

Opening a Restaurant
by compound complex ina friend and i were talking today about a child-friendly restaurant she wants to open.
the accommodations will suit the small stature of children, their food likes, a decor that pleases little guys and gals.
she said to me, "you're children only once.

Bright kid.
The low levels of entrepreneurship have festered ridiculousness. This child is a glowing beacon of hope.

Not cool.
Ric Flair was a wrasslin' favorite of mine. He would knife chop the whole GB before putting them in a figure-four leg lock.

JW.ORG turning into an evangelical clone
by Pistoff ini clicked this link to the november 2017 tvjw video, in it they defend their 2 witness policy, though, gutlessly, they do not mention it in the context of child sexual abuse.. anyway, check out the christian jehovian song at 57:06, ugh, makes me nauseous.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksz0qiftsok&feature=youtu.be&t=53m25s.

If I were to making a recording of that song, jump in a time machine, and give that recording to my teenage self to play am pretty sure my JW parents would make be burn after scorning me for trying to bring demons into our house by playing gospel music.

November 2017 JW broadcasting HYPOCRISY!
by stuckinarut2 inok...so i am on a bit of a temper tantrum rant here...but if anyone has (endured) watched this month's broadcast, you will know what i mean!.
i have only watched 20 mins so far, and the hypocrisy is mind blowing.
they dare to go on about how thoroughly they research the material produced, so that errors are prevented etc.. for instance, the actually say how they ensure that a scientist is not misquoted, or that an "evolutionist" is not inaccurately quoted to make it seem like his comments are different to his intentions.

I find it ironic as well that the example given is actually one of the best know examples of misquoting scientists - "Life - How did it get Here? By Creation or Evolution" is bar far one of the clearest examples of the Watchtower misrepresenting scientific research. Even the title is misleading as evolution has nothing to do with abiogenesis.

Unwritten Theory
by moreconfusedthanever inhave any of you heard some theories from jws that are not based on scripture?
i have, in the past few days, heard a couple that have me shaking my head.. first one is that since satan was around during the creation period and probably watched on as things were being made, it is possible that he is responsible for the creation of some of the more hideous and nasty creatures that live among us.
surely god wouldn't make horrible things.. second one is that satan already had a bad attitude before the creation of adam and eve and was collecting followers among the other angels early on and stirring trouble.

Here is the first crazy JW theory I had ever heard. I heard it when I was about 4 or 5 -
"Satan and his demons (Satan owns demons? Demons work for Satan? What?) created dinosaur bones to make people believe in evolution."
Without a doubt the most insane theory I had ever heard.
Not much later I heard -
"UFOs and alien sightings are made by Satan and his demons to make people believe there is life elsewhere in the universe and therefor evolution is true."
I find it amazing that I think I actually started my escape from that organization before I started primary school.

Faced with the reality of mortality
by stuckinarut2 inhow have you all coped with facing the reality of our mortality?.
most of us were raised to firmly believe we would never get old or die... so here we are now having to face the reality that are getting older... we are going to die.. sometimes it really pisses me off that we were never helped to comprehend this most basic of facts.
we were given a utopian dream as a "fact", and hence never taught how to face our inevitable futures.... thoughts?.

US Child Marriage
by Slidin Fast ini was blissfully unaware of the child marriage laws in the us.
it seems that it is possible and relatively common for girls as young as 12 to marry men much, much older than them.
in many states it seems that child marriage is relatively easy to arrange.

I believe the Texas legislature just passed a law that requires persons to be of at least 18 years of age to marry.

Uber Cart Witnessing at the State Fair
by truth_b_known inlast thursday i bunch of us working decided we were going to head down to the state fair and badge our way in to get a fletcher's corny dog for lunch.
we had to go to a specific gate to park and show our credentials to get in.
this meant driving halfway around the perimeter of the entire fairgrounds.

Muslim women are promised one man who has a never ending erection. Muslim women only get one man, versus 72 virgins for men, because Islam teaches a woman should have no more than one man. Anything more than one partner would be disgusting in their eyes.
